1. A method comprising:
- advancing a needle block to deploy at least one ablation needle to a selected needle depth in response to actuation of a lever;
advancing a sheath block to deploy an insulative sheath surrounding the at least one ablation needle to a first predetermined sheath depth in response to actuation of the lever;
releasing a connection between the needle block and the sheath block; and
retracting the sheath block after release of the connection, such that the sheath is retracted to a second predetermined sheath depth.

Abstract
A one-piece, single-use disposable device for transurethral needle ablation (TUNA) of prostate tissue to alleviate BPH is disclosed. The device may include a flexible catheter tip including a rigid core and a flexible tip. The device may also include a single use lockout to help ensure that the device is used to perform only one ablation procedure on a single patient. The device may further include a simplified needle deployment mechanism and/or an automatic needle retraction mechanism.

13. A method comprising:
-
advancing a needle block to deploy at least one ablation needle to a selected needle depth;
advancing a sheath block to deploy an insulative sheath surrounding the at least one ablation needle to a first predetermined sheath depth;
releasing a connection between the needle block and the sheath block;
retracting the sheath block after release of the connection, such that the sheath is retracted to a second predetermined sheath depth that is less than the first predetermined needle depth; and
delivering ablation energy to a prostrate of a patient via the at least one ablation needle. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
