Abstract

Integrated systems and associated method for manipulating tissues and anatomical or other structures in medical applications for the purpose of treating diseases or disorders or other purposes. In one aspect, the system includes a delivery device configured to deploy and implant anchoring devices for such purposes.

A method of treatment at an interventional site, comprising;

embedding a first anchor at a distal location;

positioning a second anchor at a proximal location;

coupling the second anchor to the first anchor; and

embedding the second anchor at the proximal location.

A method of protecting a device from encrustation within a lumen of an urinary tract, comprising;

delivering the device within the urinary system;

maintaining contact and an outwardly directed force against a wall of the urinary system; and

completely embedding the device within the wall of the urinary system.

A method of improving symptoms associated with urinary outlet obstruction, comprising;

delivery within a patient one or more devices capable of permanently changing a geometry of a prostate gland without removing any tissue; and

producing a pattern of remodeling in a durable sustained opening of an urethra.
