Abstract

A business object model, which reflects data that is used during a given business transaction, is utilized to generate interfaces. This business object model facilitates commercial transactions by providing consistent interfaces that are suitable for use across industries, across businesses, and across different departments within a business during a business transaction.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method for administering and coordinating master and transactional data about forecast algorithms for service parts, the method comprising:

generating a first electronic message by a first application, the first application executing in an environment of computer systems providing message-based services, wherein the first message requests creation of a service part demand forecast and comprises i) a service part demand forecast package, ii) a key figure package, iii) a key figure value package, and iv) a time series period package;

receiving a second electronic message from a second application in response to transmission of the first message, the second application executing in the environment of computer systems providing message-based services, wherein the second message confirms the request for the creation of the particular service part demand forecast;

generating a third electronic message by the first application, wherein the third message requests a change to at least one of plurality of service part demand forecasts and comprises i) a service part demand forecast package, ii) a key figure package, and iii) a time series period package;

receiving a fourth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the third message, wherein the fourth message confirms the request to change the particular service part demand forecast;

generating a fifth electronic message by the first application, wherein the fifth message comprises a query of the service part demand forecasts and comprises a selection package; and

receiving a sixth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the fifth message, wherein the sixth message comprises i) a service part demand forecast package and ii) a time series period package.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

generating a seventh electronic message by the first application, wherein the seventh message requests cancellation of at least one service part demand forecast and comprises a service part demand forecast package;

receiving an eighth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the seventh message, wherein the eighth message confirms the request to cancel the particular service part demand forecast;

generating a ninth electronic message by the first application, wherein the ninth message requests creation of at least one service part demand forecast key figure for at least one service part demand forecast and comprises i) a service part demand forecast package and ii) a key figure package;

receiving a tenth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the ninth message, wherein the tenth message confirms the request for creation of the particular service part demand forecast key figure for the at least one service part demand forecast;

generating an eleventh electronic message by the first application, wherein the eleventh message requests cancellation of at least one service part demand forecast key figure for at least one service part demand forecast and comprises i) a service part demand forecast package and ii) a key figure package; and

receiving a twelfth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the eleventh message, wherein the twelfth message confirms the request for cancellation of the particular service part demand forecast key figure for the at least one service part demand forecast.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the second message comprises a service part demand forecast package.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the third message further comprises a key figure value package.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the fourth message comprises a service part demand forecast package.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the sixth message further comprises a service part demand forecast package and a key figure value package.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 2, wherein the eighth message comprises a service part demand forecast package.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 2, wherein the tenth message comprises a service part demand forecast package and a key figure package.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 2, wherein the twelfth message comprises a service part demand forecast package and a key figure value package.

10. A computer-implemented method for administering and coordinating master and transactional data about demand for service parts, the method comprising:

generating a first electronic message by a first application, the first application executing in an environment of computer systems providing message-based services, wherein the first message requests creation of a service part demand history object and comprises i) a service part demand history package, ii) a key figure package, iii) a key figure value package, and iv) a time series period package;

receiving a second electronic message from a second application in response to transmission of the first message, the second application executing in the environment of computer systems providing message-based services, wherein the second message confirms the request for the creation of the particular service part demand history;

generating a third electronic message by the first application, wherein the third message requests a change to at least one of a plurality of service part demand history objects and comprises i) a service part demand history package, ii) a key figure package, and iii) a times series period package;

receiving a fourth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the third message, wherein the fourth message confirms the request to change the particular service part demand history;

generating a fifth electronic message by the first application, wherein the fifth message comprises a query of the service part demand history objects and comprises a selection package; and

receiving a sixth electronic message from the second application in response to the transmission of the fifth message, wherein the sixth message comprises i) a service part demand history package and ii) a time series period package.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, further comprising:

generating a seventh electronic message by the first application, wherein the seventh message requests cancellation of at least one service part demand history and comprises a service part demand history package;

receiving an eighth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the seventh message, wherein the eighth message confirms the request to cancel the particular service part demand history;

generating a ninth electronic message by the first application, wherein the ninth message requests creation of at least one service part demand history key figure for at least one service part demand history and comprises i) a service part demand history package, ii) a key figure package, iii) a key figure value package, and iv) a time series period package;

receiving a tenth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the ninth message, wherein the tenth message confirms the request for creation of the particular service part demand history key figure for the at least one service part demand history;

generating an eleventh electronic message by the first application, wherein the eleventh message requests cancellation of at least one service part demand history key figure at least one service part demand history and comprises i) a service part demand history package and ii) a key figure package; and

receiving a twelfth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the eleventh message, wherein the twelfth message comprises a confirmation of the request for cancellation of the particular service part demand forecast key figure for the at least one service part demand forecast.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein the second message comprises a service part demand history package.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein the third message further comprises a key figure value package.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein the fourth message comprises a service part demand history package.

15. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein the sixth message further comprises a service part demand history package and a key figure value package.

16. The computer-implemented method of claim 11, wherein the eighth message comprises a service part demand history package.

17. The computer-implemented method of claim 11, wherein the tenth message comprises a service part demand history package and a key figure package.

18. The computer-implemented method of claim 11, wherein the twelfth message comprises a service part demand history package and a key figure package.

19. A computer-implemented method for administering and coordinating master and transactional data about inventory planning algorithms, the method comprising:

generating a first electronic message by a first application, the first application executing in an environment of computer systems providing message-based services, wherein the first message requests creation of at least one service part inventory replenishment rule and comprises i) a service part inventory replenishment rule package, ii) a key figure package, iii) a key figure value package, and iv) time series period package;

receiving a second electronic message from a second application in response to transmission of the first message, the second application executing in the environment of computer systems providing message-based services, wherein the second message confirms the request for the creation of the at least one service part inventory replenishment rule;

generating a third electronic message by the first application, wherein the third message requests a change to at least one of a plurality of service part inventory replenishment rules and comprises i) a service part inventory replenishment rule package, ii) a key figure package, and iii) a time series period package;

receiving a fourth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the third message, wherein the fourth message confirms the request to change the particular service part inventory replenishment rule;

generating a fifth electronic message by the first application, wherein the fifth message comprises a query of the service part inventory replenishment rules and comprises a selection package; and

receiving a sixth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the fifth message, wherein the sixth message comprises i) a service part inventory replenishment rule package and ii) a time series period package.

20. The computer-implemented method of claim 19, further comprising:

generating a seventh electronic message by the first application, wherein the seventh message requests cancellation of at least one service part inventory replenishment rule and comprises a service part inventory replenishment rule package;

receiving an eighth electronic message form the second application in response to transmission of the seventh message, wherein the eighth message confirms the request to cancel the particular service part inventory replenishment rule;

generating a ninth electronic message by the first application, wherein the ninth message requests creation of a service part inventory replenishment rule key figure for one of the service part inventory replenishment rules and comprises i) a service part inventory replenishment rule package, ii) a key figure package, and iii) a key figure value package;

receiving a tenth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the ninth message, wherein the ninth message confirms the request for creation of the particular service part inventory replenishment rule key figure;

generating an eleventh electronic message by the first application, wherein the eleventh message requests cancellation of at least one service part inventory replenishment rule key figure for one of the service part inventory replenishment rules and comprises i) a service part inventory replenishment rule package and ii) a key figure package; and

receiving a twelfth electronic message from the second application in response to transmission of the eleventh message, wherein the twelfth message confirms the request for cancellation of the particular service part inventory replenishment rule key figure.

21. The computer-implemented method of claim 19, wherein the second message comprises a service part inventory replenishment rule package.

22. The computer-implemented method of claim 19, wherein the third message further comprises a key figure value package.

23. The computer-implemented method of claim 19, wherein the fourth message comprises a service part inventory replenishment rule package.

24. The computer-implemented method of claim 19, wherein the sixth message further comprises a service part inventory replenishment rule package and a key figure value package.

25. The computer-implemented method of claim 20, wherein the eighth message comprises a service part inventory replenishment rule package.

26. The computer-implemented method of claim 20, wherein the tenth message comprises a service part inventory replenishment rule package and a key figure package.

27. The computer-implemented method of claim 20, wherein the twelfth message comprises a service part inventory replenishment rule package and a key figure package.
