Abstract

A mobile multimedia content aggregation and dissemination platform is provided that aims to automate the creation, collection, aggregation, and dissemination of RSS and non-RSS information for and to interested parties. This platform may be used for the construction of a personalized blogging agent as well as for a personalized news aggregator.

Claims

1. A method of providing non-syndicated content for use in a blog, said method comprising:

providing non-syndicated information to a gateway agent, said gateway agent receiving said non-syndicated information and structuring a format of said non-syndicated information;

providing said structured non-syndicated information to a blog infolet, said blog infolet being programmed to convert said structured non-syndicated information into a blog information item;

annotating said blog information item with a blog item description;

storing said blog information item in a database with other blog information items;

creating a syndicated style feed that includes said blog information item and a plurality of said other blog information items;

aggregating said syndicated style feed with selected other syndicated sources into an aggregated syndicated style feed using selection criteria based on a first user'"'"'s service profile, said first user'"'"'s service profile comprises user defined aggregation attributes; and

providing said aggregated syndicated style feed to a first user'"'"'s blog.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing a second user selected portion of said aggregated syndicated style feed to said gateway agent and delivering said second user selected portion of said aggregated syndicated style feed to a second user'"'"'s specified device.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein said second user'"'"'s specified device comprises at least one of a desktop computer, a laptop computer, a handheld computer, a mobile phone, a wireless personal digital assistant, a wireless video device, a wireless audio device, and a wireless Internet device.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein said non-syndicated information comprises voice data.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein said non-syndicated information comprises at least one of a user device generated email, picture, video file, video stream, audio file, audio stream and text message.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein said gateway agent includes means for providing a voice-to-text conversion that converts voice data received at said gateway agent into said structured non-syndicated information.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein structuring the format of said non-syndicated information includes:

converting video data into at least a video pointer and said video data; and

storing said video data in a database, said video pointer designating a storage location of said video data.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein said structuring the format of said non-syndicated information includes:

converting graphic data into at least a graphic tag and said graphic data; and

storing said graphic data in a database, said graphic pointer designating a storage location of said graphic data.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein said standardizing the format of said non-RSS information includes:

converting audio data into at least an audio pointer and said audio data; and

storing said audio data in a database, said audio pointer designating a storage location of said audio data.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein said first user'"'"'s service profile further comprises a set of first user defined aggregation attributes, said first user defined attributes comprising at least one of a time stamp, a geographical location indicator, a popularity indicator, a source of data indicator, a type of data indicator, a topic indicator, a category indicator, and an organization membership indicator.

11. A system for providing a personal blogging agent, said system comprising:

a gateway agent for receiving data from a consumer oriented communication device and for converting said data into a structured data format;

a blog infolet that receives said structured data format from said gateway agent and that comprises a module that converts said structured data format into a blog information item;

a database that stores said blog information item along with other blog information items;

means for creating a syndicated style data feed from selected blog information items in said database;

an syndicated data aggregator that is programmed to aggregate said syndicated style data feed along with other syndicated data feeds according to a set of user defined aggregation attributes, said syndicated data aggregator thereby creating a user defined syndicated style data feed; and

a publication infolet for providing said user defined syndicated style data feed to a user'"'"'s blog site.

The system of claim 11, wherein said user defined aggregation attributes comprising at least one of a time stamp, a geographical location indicator, a popularity indicator, a source of data indicator, a type of data indicator, a topic indicator, a category indicator, and an organization membership indicator.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein said data is voice data and wherein said gateway agent comprises a module that converts said voice data to text data, said text data being included as part of said structured data format.

14. The system of claim 11, wherein said data is graphic data and wherein said gateway agent comprises a module that stores said graphic data in a database and that provides a graphic pointer in said structured data format, said graphic pointer indicating a storage location of said graphic data.

15. The system of claim 11, wherein said data is audio data and wherein said gateway agent comprises a module that stores said audio data in a database and provides an audio pointer in said structured data format, said audio pointer indicating a storage location of said audio data.

16. The system of claim 11, wherein said data is video data and wherein said gateway agent comprises a module that stores said video data in a database and provides a video pointer in said standardized data format, said video pointer indicating a storage location of said video data.

17. The system of claim 11, further comprising a delivery module inside an infolet that filters said user defined syndicated style data feed and provides a filtered syndicated style data feed to said gateway agent wherein said gateway agent converts said filtered syndicated style data feed into a user selected data type, said gateway agent further forwards said filtered syndicated style data feed that was converted into said user selected data type toward a user device.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein said user selected data type is at least one of a voice data, an audio data, a video data, a graphic data, and a text data.

19. The system of claim 17, wherein said user device is at least one of a desktop computer, a laptop computer, a handheld computer, a wireless internet device, a mobile phone, a wireless personal digital assistant, a wireless audio device, and a wireless video device.

20. The system of claim 13, wherein said database is searchable.

21. A method for clustering blog information items, originating from non-syndicated data sources, and syndicated data items for incorporation into an aggregated syndicated style data feed, the method comprising:

storing said blog information items, originating from non-syndicated data sources, in a database;

attaching to each one of said blog information items a plurality of annotations, said annotations comprising at least one of a centroid based annotation, a hierarchical based annotation, and a density based annotation;

using a multi-dimensional clustering algorithm to sort said blog information items based on said annotations, wherein the algorithm accounts for user preferences by assigning weights to each dimension in said multi-dimensional clustering algorithm.

22. The method of claim 21, wherein said multi-dimensional cluster algorithm takes into account sparse annotations of said plurality of annotations.
