6. A method for preparing a polyalkyl benzimide polymeric dispersant comprising:

(a) mixing a polyisobutylene amine with 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic anhydride at a temperature sufficient to dissolve the benzenetricarboxylic anhydride and form a reaction mixture; and (b) catalyzing the reaction by heating the mixture under vacuum at a sufficient temperature thereby producing the polyalkyl benzimide polymeric dispersant. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10)
