METHOD OF CAPTURING NOTE-TAKING SESSION USING INTERACTIVE NOTEPAD

1. A method of capturing, in a computer system, data relating to a note-taking session using an interactive notepad, the method comprising the steps of:
- receiving, in the computer system, an indication of the start of the note-taking session indicated by interaction of a writing implement with coded data of a control portion of the notepad, the coded data being indicative of at least one reference point in the control portion;
receiving, in the computer system, data indicative of handwritten annotations made on a note-taking portion of the notepad using the writing implement, the note-taking portion including coded data indicative of at least one reference point in the note-taking portion;
receiving, in the computer system, an indication of the end of the note-taking session indicated by interaction of the writing implement with the coded data of the control portion; and
in response to receiving the indication of the end of the note-taking session and without user intervention, printing a note-taking session end page indicating at least one of a start time and an end time of the note-taking session.

Abstract
A method is provided of capturing, in a computer system, data relating to a note-taking session using an interactive notepad. In the method, the computer system receives: a session start indication indicated by interaction of a writing implement with coded data of a control portion of the notepad; data indicative of handwritten annotations made on a note-taking portion of the notepad using the writing implement; and a session end indication indicated by interaction of the writing implement with the control portion coded data, and in response to receiving the indication of the session end and without user intervention, the method prints a session end page indicating a start and/or end time of the session. The control portion coded data is indicative of a reference point(s) in the control portion, and the note-taking portion includes coded data indicative of a reference point(s) in the note-taking portion.
