Abstract

A motor vehicle light including a plastic cover disc and a light unit that is mounted behind the surface of the cover disc is provided. The light unit is at least partially encased by the plastic of the cover disc and is fixed in position against the cover disc by the casing.

Claims

1. A motor vehicle light having a cover disk manufactured from plastic and a light unit attached behind a surface of the cover disk, wherein the light unit is at least partially encased in a formfitting way by the plastic of the cover disk and is attached to the cover disk and fixed in place by the cover disk.

2. The motor vehicle light according to claim 1, wherein the light unit comprises a circuit board and at least one lamp attached to the circuit board.

3. The motor vehicle light according to claim 1, wherein the light unit is encased entirely in a formfitting way by the plastic of the cover disk.

4. The motor vehicle light according to claim 1, wherein the cover disk is incorporated into the outer skin of a motor vehicle, which is manufactured from plastic, by a multicomponent injection molding method.

5. The motor vehicle light according to claim 4, wherein the light unit is partially encased in a formfitting way by the plastic of the outer skin.

6. The motor vehicle light according to claim 1, wherein the cover disk is inserted into an opening of the outer skin of a motor vehicle, which is manufactured from plastic, suitable for receiving the cover disk.

7. The motor vehicle light according to claim 6, wherein the cover disk is attached to the outer skin by a catch connection.

8. The motor vehicle light according to claim 6, wherein the cover disk is attached to the outer skin by a weld bond or adhesive bond.

9. The motor vehicle light according to claim 6, wherein the cover disk is attached to the outer skin by being injected on or extrusion coated.

10. The motor vehicle light according to claim 2, wherein the light unit is encased entirely in a formfitting way by the plastic of the cover disk.

11. The motor vehicle light according to claim 2, wherein the cover disk is incorporated into the outer skin of a motor vehicle, which is manufactured from plastic, by a multicomponent injection molding method.

12. The motor vehicle light according to claim 3, wherein the cover disk is incorporated into the outer skin of a motor vehicle, which is manufactured from plastic, by a multicomponent injection molding method.

13. The motor vehicle light according to claim 2, wherein the cover disk is inserted into an opening of the outer skin of a motor vehicle, which is manufactured from plastic, suitable for receiving the cover disk.

14. The motor vehicle light according to claim 3, wherein the cover disk is inserted into an opening of the outer skin of a motor vehicle, which is manufactured from plastic, suitable for receiving the cover disk.

15. A motor vehicle light, comprising:

a plastic cover disk; and

a light unit attached behind a surface of the cover disk, the light unit being at least partially and formfittingly encased by the cover disk, attached to the cover disk and fixed in place by the cover disk.

16. The motor vehicle light according to claim 15, wherein the light unit comprises a circuit board and at least one lamp attached to the circuit board.

17. The motor vehicle light according to claim 15, wherein the light unit is encased entirely in a formfitting way by the plastic of the cover disk.

18. The motor vehicle light according to claim 15, wherein the cover disk is incorporated into the outer skin of a motor vehicle, which is manufactured from plastic, by a multicomponent injection molding method.

19. The motor vehicle light according to claim 15, wherein the cover disk is inserted into an opening of the outer skin of a motor vehicle, which is manufactured from plastic, suitable for receiving the cover disk.

20. A method for forming a motor vehicle light, compromising:

forming a cover disk from plastic; and

at least partially and formfittingly encasing a light unit in the cover disk;

wherein the light unit is attached and fixed by the cover disk.
