1. A method for determining a global navigation satellite system (GNSS)-based location of a remote node, comprising:

  • receiving GNSS signal samples through a communication network having an intermediate node, said GNSS signal samples corresponding to digitized samples of a GNSS signal received by said remote node;

    geolocating a node ID associated with said intermediate node for determining a geographical location of said intermediate node; and

    determining a GNSS-based geographical location of said remote node based on said GNSS signal samples and said intermediate node location.
