1. A lighting system, comprising:
- at least one light source;
a light indicator; and
logic configured to control the light indicator such that the light indicator emits light indicative of a current operational state of the at least one light source, the logic configured to operate the light indicator in a plurality of modes of operation including a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation, wherein the logic, while operating in the first mode of operation, is configured to cause the light indicator to emit light at a first brightness in response to a determination that the at least one light source is currently in a particular operational state, and wherein the logic, while operating in the second mode of operation, is configured to cause the light indicator to emit light at a second brightness in response to a determination that the at least one light source is currently in the particular operational state, the logic further configured to transition between the first and second modes of operation based on time.

Abstract
In general, the present disclosure pertains to systems and methods for controlling the states of lights and/or other electrical components. In one exemplary embodiment, a system includes at least one light source, a light indicator, and logic. The logic is configured to control the light indicator such that the light indicator emits light indicative of a current operational state of the at least one light source. The logic further is configured to change a brightness of the light indicator in response to a determination that a specified time period has been reached.

7. A method for use in a lighting system, comprising the steps of:
-
transitioning a light source between at least a first operational state and second operational state; controlling a light indicator such that a brightness of the light indicator indicates whether the light source is currently in the first operational state and whether the light source is currently in the second operational state, the light indicator operable in at least a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation, the controlling step comprising the steps of; causing the light indicator to exhibit a first brightness if the light source is in the first operational state during the first mode of operation; causing the light indicator to exhibit a second brightness if the light source is in the second operational state during the first mode of operation, the first brightness different than the second brightness; causing the light indicator to exhibit a third brightness if the light source is in the first operational state during the second mode of operation; causing the light indicator to exhibit a fourth brightness if the light source is in the second operational state during the second mode of operation, the third brightness different than the fourth brightness; and selecting between the first and second modes of operation based on time. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9)
