OPTICAL DISK FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL VIDEO RECORDING, OPTICAL DISK REPRODUCTION APPARATUS AND OPTICAL DISK RECORDING APPARATUS
First Claim
1. An optical disk reproduction apparatus for reproducing data in an optical disk, wherein the optical disk records a basic audio encoding stream having a first audio signal encoded thereon, a second audio stream having a second audio signal encoded thereon, the second audio signal being a sub signal of the first audio signal, and an audio recording identifier indicating whether the first audio signal and the second audio signal are synthesized and a synthesized signal is output as management information, the reproduction apparatus comprising:
- an audio recording identifier reproduction section for obtaining the audio recording identifier from the management information;
a section for separating and obtaining the first audio encoding stream and the second audio encoding stream;
a section for decoding the obtained first audio encoding stream and outputting the first audio signal;
a section for decoding the obtained second audio encoding stream and outputting the second audio signal; and
a synthesis section for synthesizing the decoded first audio signal and the decoded second audio signal, wherein when the audio recording identifier reproduction section detects the audio recording identifier from the management information, the synthesis section synthesizes the first audio signal and the second audio signal that are recorded as separate streams and outputs a synthesized signal.

Abstract
The present invention has an objective of providing an optical disk having a high resolution picture and a system for reproducing data on the optical disk, which are compatible with a conventional system for reproducing an ordinary resolution picture. A high resolution signal is divided into a main signal and a sub signal by picture division means and MPEG-encoded. The main signal and the sub signal are divided into frames each having 1 GOP or more. The resultant first interleave block 54 and second interleave block 55 are recorded alternately on an optical disk. A high resolution reproduction apparatus reproduced both the first and second interleave blocks, so that a high resolution picture is obtained. A non-high resolution reproduction apparatus reproduces only the first or second interleave block, so that an ordinary resolution picture.
