Abstract

An embodiment of the invention is an arrangement that includes a plurality of sensors and a processing circuit. Each of the plurality of sensors is operably coupled to measure an electrical parameter of a refrigeration system. Each sensor is coupled to one of a plurality of wireless transmission devices. The processing circuit is configured to receive information based on the electrical parameters of the refrigeration system received from the wireless transmission devices. The processing circuit is programmed and/or otherwise configured to: receive a first set of information comprising electrical parameters corresponding to a set of refrigeration system devices from the wireless transmission devices, the first set of information corresponding to a first time period; receive a second set of information comprising electrical parameters corresponding to the set of refrigeration system devices from the wireless transmission devices, the second set of information corresponding to a second time period; and store the first set of information and the second set of information in a memory.

Claims

1. An arrangement, comprising:

a plurality of sensors, each sensor operably coupled to measure an electrical parameter of a refrigeration system, each sensor coupled to one of a plurality of wireless transmission devices;

a processing circuit configured to receive information based on the electrical parameters of the refrigeration system received from the wireless transmission devices, the processing circuit configured to;

receive a first set of information comprising electrical parameters corresponding to a set of refrigeration system devices from the wireless transmission devices, the first set of information corresponding to a first time period;

receive a second set of information comprising electrical parameters corresponding to the set of refrigeration system devices from the wireless transmission devices, the second set of information corresponding to a second time period;

store the first set of information and the second set of information in a memory.

2. The arrangement of claim 1, wherein the set of refrigeration system devices comprises a plurality of refrigeration system devices.

3. The arrangement of claim 1, wherein the set of refrigeration system devices includes a compressor.

4. The arrangement of claim 3, wherein the set of refrigeration system devices includes an evaporator.

5. The arrangement of claim 1, wherein at least a first sensor of the plurality of sensors and the wireless transmission device are integrated onto a single substrate.

6. The arrangement of claim 5, wherein the first set of information includes an energy consumption value for the first time period received from the first sensor.

7. The arrangement of claim 6, wherein the first sensor is coupled to a compressor of the refrigeration system.

8. An arrangement, comprising:

a first sensor operably coupled to measure an electrical parameter of a compressor, the compressor having an input configured to receive liquid and an output configured to provide compressed liquid,

a second sensor operably coupled to measure a first physical characteristic of the liquid at the compressor input;

a third sensor operably coupled to measure the first physical characteristic of the liquid at the compressor output;

at least a first wireless transmission device configured to transmit the information relating to the electrical parameter;

a processing circuit configured to receive and store first information relating to the electrical parameter and second information indicative of the first physical characteristic based on the measured values generated by the second sensor and the third sensor.

9. The arrangement of claim 8, wherein the processing circuit is further configured to:

receive a first value representative of the first physical characteristic measured at the compressor input;

receive a second value representative of the first physical characteristic measured at the compressor output; and

store a third value, the third value based on a difference between the second value and the first value.

10. The arrangement of claim 8, wherein the processing circuit is further configured to receive and store the second information, the second information comprising a value based on the difference between the first physical characteristic measured at the compressor output and the first physical characteristic measured at the compressor input.

11. The arrangement of claim 8, wherein the electrical parameter is a current level.

12. The arrangement of claim 8, wherein the electrical parameter is energy consumption over a first time period.

13. The arrangement of claim 8, wherein the first physical characteristic is temperature.

14. A method, comprising:

a) obtaining sensor data regarding the enthalpy of a plurality of points in a refrigeration system;

b) storing data representative of the sensor data;

c) contemporaneously displaying information representative of the stored data and displaying reference enthalpy information.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein step c) further comprises:

displaying the information representative of the stored data as a first enthalpy diagram; and

displaying the reference enthalpy information as a second enthalpy diagram.

16. The method of claim 14, wherein step a) further comprises obtaining sensor data representative of pressure and temperature measurements.

17. The method of claim 14, wherein step a) further comprises employing a wireless microsystem to obtain at least some of the sensor data, and employing the wireless microsystem to transmit the at least some of the sensor data to another device;

and step b) further comprises receiving the at least some of the sensor data.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein step a) further comprises employing a MEMs sensor in the wireless microsystem to obtain the at least some of the sensor data.

19. The method of claim 14, wherein the sensor data includes pressure and temperature data step b) further comprises converting the sensor data into enthalpy values and using the enthalpy values as at least some of the stored data.

20. The method of claim 14, wherein step a) further comprises obtaining the sensor data regarding the enthalpy of the plurality of points in the refrigeration system directly or indirectly from a plurality of wireless Microsystems.

21. The method of claim 14, further comprising:

d) obtaining second sensor data regarding an electrical parameter of the refrigeration system; and

e) storing the information representative of the second sensor data

22. The method of claim 21, wherein step d) further comprises employing a wireless microsystem to obtain the second sensor data.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein step d) further comprises employing a plurality of wireless Microsystems to obtain the second sensor data, the second sensor data representative of the electrical parameter at a plurality of locations in the refrigeration system.
