determining whether a first region indicated by the region information overlaps with a second region corresponding to location information on which traffic information is desired; and

According to an embodiment, the method for receiving traffic information includes reading region information included in received traffic information, determining whether a first region indicated by the region information overlaps with a second region corresponding to location information on which traffic information is desired, and decoding the traffic information including the region information indicating the first region if the determination result indicates that the first and second regions overlap.
