1. A lancing device for use with a lancet, comprising:
- a housing;
a carriage slidably disposed within the housing;
a lancet carrier engaged with the carriage and movable relative to the carriage between a forward incision position and a rearward position;
a drive member mounted to the carriage and configured to move to a cocked position in response to the lancet carrier moving to the rearward position;
wherein the drive member urges the lancet carrier forward when in the cocked position;
a trigger mounted to at least one of the carriage and the housing and configured to selectively restrain the lancet carrier from forward movement when the lancet carrier is in the rearward position; and
a depth adjustment mechanism coupled to the carriage operable to move the carriage and the lancet carrier together forward and rearward in response to a movement by a user of the depth adjustment mechanism.

10. A lancing device for use with a lancet, comprising:
-
a housing; a carriage assembly located within the housing and comprising; a carriage movable forward and rearward relative to the housing; a lancet holder adapted to receive a lancet, the lancet holder mounted to the carriage and movable relative to the carriage between a forward incision position and a rearward cocked position; and a drive member mounted to the carriage and adapted to urge the lancet carrier to the forward incision position when the lancet carrier is moved to the rearward cocked position; an adjustment mechanism mounted to the housing and coupled to the carriage to move the carriage and the lancet holder forward and rearward; and a trigger assembly having at least a first portion and a second portion, the trigger assembly movable between at least a first position in which the first portion of the trigger assembly engages the lancet holder in a cocked position, and a second position in which the first portion of the trigger assembly releases the lancet holder to permit the drive member to move the lancet holder forward; and wherein the location of the first portion relative to the second portion is adjustable in response to the movement of the carriage assembly within the housing. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16)

17. A lancing device, comprising;
-
a housing having an open end; a carriage slidably disposed within the housing and having a stop; a lancet carrier slidably mounted to the carriage to receive a lancet when the lancet is inserted through the open end of the housing; a spring mounted to the carriage and configured to urge the lancet carrier forward; a cocking member slidably mounted to the housing and configured to move the lancet carrier rearward in opposition to the spring, the cocking member including an engagement surface that contacts the stop to limit the rearward movement of the lancet carrier by the cocking member; and a depth adjustment mechanism mounted to the housing and coupled to the carriage to move the carriage and lancet earlier forward and backward together in response to a user movement of the depth adjustment mechanism. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20, 21, 22)
