Abstract

Methods, apparatuses, computer program products, devices and systems are described that carry out accepting an input providing innate determinant data from at least one sample, accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample; accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information; and presenting a signal related to ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information in response to accessing the allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, the allergy predisposition information.

Claims

1. A method for determining allergy predisposition comprising:

accepting an input providing innate determinant data from at least one sample;

accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample;

accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information; and

presenting a signal related to ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information in response to accessing the allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, the allergy predisposition information.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein accepting an input providing innate determinant data from at least one sample comprises:

accepting an input providing genetic data, epigenetic data, or gene expression data from at least one sample.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein accepting an input providing innate determinant data from at least one sample comprises:

accepting an input providing ethnic, racial, or demographic data as the innate determinant data from at least one sample.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample comprises:

accessing a clinical trial dataset, or an informal allergy study dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample comprises:

accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one gene sequence allergy determinant, single nucleotide polymorphism allergy determinant, or haplotype allergy determinant in the at least one sample.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample comprises:

accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one human leukocyte antigen sequence allergy determinant in the at least one sample.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample comprises:

accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one atopic allergy determinant in the at least one sample.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample comprises:

accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one T cell allergy determinant in the at least one sample.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing a total IgE dataset or a specific IgE dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing a quantitative, allergen-specific, human serum IgE dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information.

11. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing a radioallergosorbent test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information.

12. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing a serum immunoglobulin electrophoresis test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information.

13. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing a skin test dataset or a patch test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information.

14. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing a skin prick, skin scratch, or intradermal skin test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information.

15. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing a diet elimination dataset or a food challenge test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information.

16. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing an eosinophil count dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information.

17. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, statistically-characterized allergy predisposition information.

18. The method of claim 1 wherein accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information comprises:

accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, statistically-characterized allergy predisposition information indicating the absence of an allergy predisposition.

19. The method of claim 1 wherein presenting a signal related to ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information in response to accessing the allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, the allergy predisposition information comprises:

presenting a signal related to ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information to a user at a user interface in response to accessing the allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, the allergy predisposition information.

circuitry for accepting an input providing innate determinant data from at least one sample;

circuitry for accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample;

circuitry for accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information; and

circuitry for presenting a signal related to ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information in response to the allergy predisposition information.

23. The system of claim 22 wherein the circuitry for accepting an input providing innate determinant data from at least one sample comprises:

circuitry for accepting an input providing genetic data, epigenetic data, or gene expression data from at least one sample.

24. The system of claim 22 wherein the circuitry for accepting an input providing innate determinant data from at least one sample comprises:

circuitry for accepting an input providing ethnic, racial, or demographic data as the innate determinant data from at least one sample.

25. The system of claim 22 wherein the circuitry for accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample comprises:

26. The system of claim 22 wherein the circuitry for accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample comprises:

40. The system of claim 22 wherein the circuitry for presenting a signal related to ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information in response to the allergy predisposition information comprises:

circuitry for presenting a signal related to ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information to a user at a user interface in response to accessing the allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, the allergy predisposition information.

a signal-bearing medium bearing

(a) one or more instructions for accepting an input providing innate determinant data from at least one sample;

(b) one or more instructions for accessing a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample;

(c) one or more instructions for accessing an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information; and

(d) one or more instructions for presenting a signal related to ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information in response to accessing the allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, the allergy predisposition information.

43. The computer program product of claim 42, wherein the signal-bearing medium includes a computer-readable medium.

44. computer program product of claim 42, wherein the signal-bearing medium includes a recordable medium.

45. The computer program product of claim 42, wherein the signal-bearing medium includes a communications medium.

46. A system comprising:

a computing device; and

instructions that when executed on the computing device cause the computing device to

(a) accept an input providing innate determinant data from at least one sample;

(b) access a dataset to identify, based on the innate determinant data, at least one innate allergy determinant in the at least one sample;

(c) access an allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, allergy predisposition information; and

(d) present a signal related to the ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information in response to accessing the allergy test dataset to identify, based on the at least one innate allergy determinant, the allergy predisposition information.

47. The system of claim 46 wherein the computing device comprises:

one or more of a personal digital assistant (PDA), a laptop computer, a tablet personal computer, a networked computer, a computing system comprised of a cluster of processors, a computing system comprised of a cluster of servers, a workstation computer, and/or a desktop computer.

48. The system of claim 46 wherein the computing device is operable to receive information regarding the ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information and to present the ingestion-dependent allergy predisposition information from at least one memory.
