Abstract

An apparatus for deferred handling of a message In a publish/subscribe system comprises a publisher for publishing the message and a subscriber for receiving the message. The apparatus comprises a handier for handling a first message published by a publisher, the first message comprising an instruction associated with said publisher, the instruction comprising topic data, and a generator, responsive to handling of the first message, for using first data associated with the instruction to generate topic data.

Claims

1. An apparatus for deferred handling of a message in a publish/subscribe system comprising a publisher for publishing the message and a subscriber for receiving the message, the apparatus comprising:

a handler for handling a first message published by a publisher, the first message comprising an instruction associated with said publisher, the instruction comprising topic-data; and

a generator, responsive to handling of the first message, for using first data associated with the instruction to generate topic data.

2. An apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the topic data comprises a topic.

3. An apparatus as claimed in claim 2, further comprising a parser for parsing the received first message in order to locate the instruction.

4. An apparatus as claimed in claim 3, further comprising a comparator for comparing second data associated with the instruction with a first storage component in order to determine whether the second data is stored in the first storage component.

5. An apparatus as claimed in claim 4, further comprising an invoker, responsive to the second data being stored in the first storage component, for invoking the second data.

6. An apparatus as claimed in claim 5, wherein the invoker is operable to receive the first data in response to invoking the second data.

7. An apparatus as claimed in claim 6, further comprising a lookup component for looking up data in a second storage component, wherein the data is associated with a component associated with generation of the first data.

8. A method for deferred handling of a message in a publish/subscribe system comprising a publisher for publishing the message and a subscriber for receiving the message, the method comprising:

handling a first message published by a publisher, the first message comprising an instruction associated with said publisher, the instruction comprising topic data; and

using, in response to handling of the first message, first data associated with the instruction to generate topic data.

9. A method as claimed in claim 8, wherein the topic data comprises a topic.

10. A method as claimed in claim 9, further comprising parsing the received first message in order to locate the instruction.

11. A method as claimed in claim 10, further comprising comparing second data associated with the instruction with a first storage component in order to determine whether the second data is stored in the first storage component.

12. A method as claimed in claim 11, further comprising invoking, in response to the second data being stored in the first storage component, the second data.

13. A method as claimed in claim 12, further comprising receiving the second data in response to invoking the second data.

14. A method as claimed in claim 13, further comprising looking up data in a second storage component, wherein the data is associated with a component associated with generation of the first data.

15. A computer program product for providing deferred handling of a message in a publish/subscribe system comprising a publisher for publishing the message and a subscriber for receiving the message, the computer program product comprising a computer usable medium having computer usable program code embodied therewith, the computer usable program code comprising.

computer usable program code configured to handle a first message published by a publisher, the first message comprising an instruction associated with said publisher, the instruction comprising topic data;

and

computer usable program code configured to use, in response to handling of the first message, first data associated with the instruction to generate topic data.

16. A computer program product as claimed in claim 15 wherein the topic data comprises a topic.

17. A computer program product as claimed in claim 16 further comprising computer usable program code configured to parse the received first message in order to locate the instruction.

18. A computer program product as claimed in claim 17 further comprising computer usable program code configured to compare second data associated with the instruction with a first storage component in order to determine whether the second data is stored in the first storage component.

19. A computer program product as claimed in claim 18 further comprising computer usable program code configured to invoke, in response to the second data being stored in the first storage component, the second data.

20. A computer program product as claimed in claim 19 computer usable program code configured to receive the second data In response to invoking the second data.
