1. A method in a clinical computing environment for documenting administration of a medication to a patient, the method comprising:
- receiving a command to document the administration of the medication to the patient;
determining that documentation of the administration of the medication requires entry of information regarding at least one clinical result for the patient;
determining that at least one previous clinical result is available for documentation; and
using the at least one previous clinical result for documentation.

A command is received to document the administration of a medication to patient. Based on the command, it is determined that documentation of the medication administration requires entry of information regarding at least one clinical result for the patient. Additionally, it is determined that a previous clinical result is available for documentation. The medication administration is then documented using the previous clinical result.
