Abstract
The invention concerns the field of RFID (“radio frequency identification”), a technology for the wireless identification of objects, which has been used for a considerable time for the automatic retrieval of information regarding persons, animals, commodities and goods items. In particular the invention concerns an RFID system (10b) with at least one reading unit (12b) for the identification of transponders (14b), which are located in a spatial registration field (16b) of the reading unit (12b). While maintaining low installation and operating costs for the system (10b), nevertheless to make possible particularly reliable registration and error-free identification of the transponders, shielding (20b) is provided, which bounds the registration field (16b). Particularly advantageously the invention can be integrated e.g. into materials handling technology in the field of production and/or logistics.
