(c) running a program of instructions on the portable microprocessor-based unit or on the remote unit, or both, using data corresponding to the blood glucose level data; and
(d) providing a signal including instructions to inject insulin when said blood glucose level data indicates.

(b) providing blood glucose level data based on the measured glucose levels into the hand-held microprocessor-based unit;
(c) running a program of instructions on the hand-held microprocessor-based unit or on the remote unit, or both, using data corresponding to the blood glucose level data; and
