Abstract

The present invention is a method and system of transferring any telephone call designated to a first user to the cellular telephone of a second user. The system authenticates an end user'"'"'s biometric information and then allows the end user to answer an incoming landline telephone call from any location using a cellular phone. Additionally, the reverse situation is true. An authenticated end user can answer an incoming cellular telephone call from any location using an available landline telephone.

Claims

1. In a telecommunication system, a method of transferring an incoming telephone call designated for an end user to an alternate telephone receiver:

registering the end user'"'"'s biometric information with the telecommunication system;

associating the end user'"'"'s biometric information with a unique phone number in the telecommunication network;

receiving an incoming call designated for a specific telephone receiver;

identifying an alternative telephone receiver for the incoming call;

locating an alternative telephone receiver for the incoming call; and

authenticating the end user for the alternative telephone receiver.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the registering step further comprises:

receiving the end user'"'"'s biometric information;

interpreting the end user'"'"'s biometric information; and

storing the biometric information on a database located on the telecommunication network;

3. The method of claim 2 wherein the registering step further comprises:

storing the database on a computer system connected to the cellular telephone network;

4. The method of claim 2 wherein the registering step further comprises:

storing the database on a computer system connected the land line telephone network.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the receiving step further comprises:

receiving an incoming call on the telecommunication network designated for a land line phone receiver.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the receiving step further comprises:

receiving an incoming call on the telecommunication network designated for a cellular phone receiver.

7. The method of claim 1 registering step further comprises inputting the end user'"'"'s finger print as the biometric identification information.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein the registering step further comprises inputting the end user'"'"'s retina eye as the biometric identification information.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein the registering step further comprises inputting the end user'"'"'s voice print as the biometric identification information.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the identifying step further comprises:

capturing from the specific telephone receiver a list of potential alternative telephone receivers;

locating each alternative receiver on the telecommunication network; and

broadcasting to each alternative receiver, the incoming telephone phone number.

11. The method of claim 10 wherein the identifying step further comprises determining if the alternative receiver is a landline phone.

12. The method of claim 10 wherein the identifying step further comprises determining if the alternative receiver is a cellular phone.

13. A system of transferring an incoming telephone call designated for an end user to an alternate telephone receiver in a telecommunication network with a plurality of interconnected telephone receiver units, the system comprising:

a registration module operative to register the end user'"'"'s biometric information with the telecommunication system;

an association module operative to associate the end user'"'"'s biometric information with a unique phone number in the telecommunication network;

a connection agent located within an alternative telephone receiver, the connection agent operative to;

receive the biometric information from the end user;

transmit the biometric information to the connection handler;

receive the incoming call connection for the alternative telephone receiver.

a connection handler unit in communication with the connection agent, the connection handler operative to;

receive an incoming call designated for a specific telephone receiver;

identify an alternative telephone receiver for the incoming call;

locate an alternative telephone receiver for the incoming call;

authenticate the end user to use the alternative telephone receiver;

setup a communication path within the telecommunication network between the incoming telephone call and the alternative telephone receiver;

wherein the incoming telephone call is transferred to the alternate telephone receiver.

14. The system of claim 13 wherein the biometric information is the end user'"'"'s finger print.

15. The system of claim 13 wherein the biometric information is the end user'"'"'s eye retina.

16. The system of claim 13 wherein the registration module is further operative to:

receive an end user'"'"'s biometric information;

interpret an end user'"'"'s biometric information;

store the end user'"'"'s biometric information in a database.

17. The system of claim 13 wherein the connection handler is further operative to:

identify from the connection agent of the specific telephone receiver, a list of potential alternative telephone receivers;

broadcast to the list of alternative telephone receivers on the telecommunication the incoming telephone call;

from the list of alternative telephone receivers, locate and enable an alternative telephone receiver.

18. The system of claim 13 wherein the incoming call is designated for a land line phone and the alternative receiver is a cellular phone.

19. The system of claim 13 wherein the incoming call is designated for a cellular phone and the alternative receiver is a land line phone.

20. A computer program product in a computer readable storage medium for transferring an incoming telephone call designated for an end user to an alternate telephone receiver comprising:

instructions for registering the end user'"'"'s biometric information with the telecommunication system;

instructions for associating the end user'"'"'s biometric information with a unique phone number in the telecommunication network;

instructions for receiving an incoming call designated for a specific telephone receiver;

instructions for identifying an alternative telephone receiver for the incoming call;

instructions for locating an alternative telephone receiver for the incoming call; and

instructions for authenticating the end user for the alternative telephone receiver.
