1. An implantable catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a body, the catheter comprising:

  • an elongate tubular core comprising a distal end and a proximal end, wherein the core defines a lumen extending between the distal and proximal ends, the core comprising a material selected from the group consisting of silica, quartz, and polyetheretherketone (PEEK); and

    an elastomeric jacket surrounding and secured to an outer surface of the tubular core, the elastomeric jacket having a radial compliance greater than a radial compliance of the tubular core, and wherein an outer diameter of the elastomeric jacket is about 4 or more times larger than an outer diameter of the tubular core.
