Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, devices and a system for automatic device failure recovery. The method mainly includes: sending a recovery request message to a management device or a server; obtaining a program file used for failure recovery from the management device or the server; and performing the failure recovery by using the program file. With the implemention of the present invention, a device may recover from a failure fully automatically. No intervention of a local user is needed in the whole failure recovery process. Therefore, the implementation of the recovery is more convenient and more flexible. Meanwhile, the failure emergency recovery of the device may be implemented automatically, which makes the failure recovery processing safer and more reliable, and effectively reduces the cost of the local maintenance of a device.

Claims

1. A method for automatic device failure recovery, comprising:

sending a recovery request message to a management device or a server;

obtaining a program file used for failure recovery from the management device or the server; and

performing the failure recovery according to the program file.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein sending the recovery request message to the management device or the server comprises:

sending the recovery request message to the management device or the server via Local Area Network or Wide Area Network.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

establishing a connection with the management device or the server when a device is not able to start due to the failure of a program file;

wherein

sending the recovery request message to the management device or the server comprises;

sending the recovery request message to the management device or the server through the connection established.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein sending the recovery request message to the management device or the server comprises:

sending the recovery request message to the management device or the server, wherein the recovery request message carries version information of a program file with which the device operated normally for the last time.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein sending the recovery request message to the management device or the server comprises:

obtaining version information of available program files from the management device or the server;

determining the version information of a needed program file; and

sending the recovery request message carrying the version information of the needed program file to the management device or the server.

6. The method of claim 4, wherein obtaining the program file used for failure recovery from the management device or the server comprises:

receiving the program file from the management device or the server;

the version information of the received program file accords with the version information of the program file with which the device operated normally for the last time.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein obtaining the program file used for failure recovery from the management device or the server comprises:

receiving a program file of the newest version from the management device or the server.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

setting a boot flag of a boot program of the device as starting up with the obtained program file;

wherein

performing a failure recovery using the program file comprises;

executing the obtained program file.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

sending a message carrying the version information of the program file which is executed to the management device or the server as the failure recovery succeeds.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising:

recording the version information of the program file which is executed.

11. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

sending a new recovery request to the management device or the server as the failure recovery fails; and

receiving a new program file whose version is previous to the version of the program file which is executed.

12. A device for automatic device failure recovery comprising:

a failure recovery processing module, configured to

send a recovery request message to a management device or a server;

obtain a program file used for failure recovery from the management device or the server; and

perform the failure recovery by using the program file.

The device of claim 12, wherein the failure recovery processing module is further configured to send the recovery request message to the management device or the server when the device is not able to start due to the failure of a program file, the recovery request message carries version information of a program file with which the device operated normally for the last time.

14. The device of claim 13, wherein the failure recovery processing module is further configured to receive the program file from the management device or the server,

the version information of the received program file accords with the version information of the program file with which the device operated normally for the last time.

15. The device of claim 12, wherein the failure recovery processing module is further configured to receive a program file of the newest version from the management device or the server.

16. The device of claim 12, wherein the failure recovery processing module is further configured to set a boot flag of a boot program of the device as starting up with the obtained program file;

and execute the obtained program file.

17. A management device comprising:

a device failure processing module, configured to receive a recovery request message, and send a program file used for failure recovery to a device.

18. The management device of claim 17, wherein

the device failure processing module is further configured to send the program file with which the device operated normally for the last time when the device is not able to start due to the failure of a program file, or send a program file of the newest version to the device.

19. A system for automatically recovering a device from a failure comprising:

a failure recovery processing module, set in a device, configured to send out a recovery request message, obtain a program file used for a failure recovery, and perform the failure recovery according to the program file; and

a device failure processing module, set in a management device or a server, configured to receive the recovery request message, and send the program file to the failure recovery processing module.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein

the failure recovery processing module is further configured to send the recovery request message to the device failure processing module, wherein the recovery request message carries version information of a program file with which the device operates normally for the latest time;

and

the device failure processing module is further configured to send the program file with which the device operates normally for the latest time, or a program file of the newest version to the failure recovery processing module.

21. The system of claim 19, wherein

the failure recovery processing module is further configured to set a boot flag of a boot program of the device as starting up with the obtained program file, and execute the obtained program file.
