Abstract

A liquid crystal display device using a light emitting diode includes a liquid crystal panel, a light guide plate including a light inlet part, the light guide plate being arranged at rear side of the liquid crystal panel, a flexible printed circuit film electrically connected to the liquid crystal panel, and a printed circuit board electrically connected to the flexible printed circuit film including a light emitting diode package mounted on a portion close to an end of the printed circuit board contacts the light inlet part of the light guide plate.

Claims

1. A liquid crystal display device comprising:

a liquid crystal panel;

a light guide plate including a light inlet part, the light guide plate being arranged at rear side of the liquid crystal panel;

a flexible printed circuit film electrically connected to the liquid crystal panel; and

a printed circuit board electrically connected to the flexible printed circuit film including a light emitting diode package mounted on a portion close to an end of the printed circuit board,

wherein the end of the printed circuit board contacts the light inlet part of the light guide plate.

2. The liquid crystal display device of claim 1, wherein the flexible printed circuit film includes a driving circuit which drives the liquid crystal panel.

3. The liquid crystal display device of claim 2, wherein the printed circuit board includes a control integrated circuit which controls the driving circuit.

4. The liquid crystal display device of claim 3, wherein the light emitting diode package is arranged with a predetermined distance from the light inlet part.

5. The liquid crystal display device of claim 4, wherein the light emitting diode package and the control integrated circuit are mounted on a same surface of the printed circuit board.

6. The liquid crystal display device of claim 4, wherein the light emitting diode package and the control integrated circuit are mounted on different surfaces of the printed circuit board.

7. The liquid crystal display device of claim 6, further comprising a heat radiating unit formed on a rear surface of the surface on which the light emitting diode package is mounted to radiate heat generated by the light emitting diode package.

8. The liquid crystal display device of claim 7, wherein the printed circuit board includes at least one via hole through which the light emitting diode package and the heat radiating unit are connected to each other.

9. The liquid crystal display device of claim 8, wherein the heat radiating unit is made of a material including copper.

10. A liquid crystal display device comprising:

a liquid crystal panel;

a light guide plate including a light inlet part, the light guide plate being arranged at a rear side of the liquid crystal panel;

a flexible printed circuit film electrically connected to the liquid crystal panel; and

a printed circuit board electrically connected to the flexible printed circuit film and having a control integrated circuit mounted thereto and a light emitting diode package mounted on a portion closed to an end of the printed circuit board,

wherein the printed circuit board is arranged on the rear side of the liquid crystal panel and the end of the printed circuit board contacts the light inlet part of the light guide plate.

11. The liquid crystal display device of claim 10, wherein the light emitting diode package is arranged with a predetermined distance from the light inlet part of the light guide plate.

12. The liquid crystal display device of claim 11, further comprising an optical sheet arranged between the liquid crystal panel and the light guide panel.

13. The liquid crystal display device of claim 11, further comprising a bottom case receiving the light guide plate.

14. The liquid crystal display device of claim 13, wherein the light emitting diode package is mounted on a surface of the printed circuit board opposing the liquid crystal panel.

15. The liquid crystal display device of claim 14, further comprising a heat radiating unit formed on a surface opposing the bottom case to radiate heat generated by the light emitting diode package.

16. The liquid crystal display device of claim 15, wherein the printed circuit board includes at least one via hole through which the light emitting diode package and the heat radiating unit are connected to each other.

17. The liquid crystal display device of claim 16, wherein the heat radiating unit is made of a material including copper.

18. The liquid crystal display device of claim 17, wherein the heat radiating unit is connected to the bottom case to radiate heat generated by the light emitting diode package.

19. The liquid crystal display device of claim 10, further comprising a driver circuit which is mounted on the liquid crystal panel, and is controlled by a control integrated circuit to drive the liquid crystal panel.

20. The liquid crystal display device of claim 19, wherein the light emitting diode package and the control integrated circuit are mounted on different surfaces of the printed circuit board.
