Abstract

A lipolysis system configured for contacting and providing low-power laser irradiation to a plurality of targeted portions of a subject'"'"'s body surface for the purpose of liquefying fats in subcutaneous regions underlying the targeted body surface portions, and methods for the use of the lipolysis system. The lipolysis system comprises: (a) a first laser applicator comprising a plurality of low-power laser diodes selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 10 mW to about 100 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm, (b) a second laser applicator comprising at least one low-power laser diode selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 10 mW to about 100 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm, and (c)a laser control device configured for controllably communicating and cooperating with said first laser applicator and said second laser applicator.

Claims

1. A laser applicator configured for contacting a portion of a subject'"'"'s body surface and controllably applying a laser irradiation thereto for the purpose of liquefying fats in adipose cells in the subcutaneous region underlying the contacted portion of the body surface, the laser applicator comprising at least one laser diode selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 10 mW to about 150 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm, said laser applicator communicable and cooperable with a laser control device.

2. A laser applicator according to claim 1, wherein the laser applicator comprises a plurality of laser diodes, each laser diode selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 10 mW to about 150 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm.

A laser applicator according to claim 1, wherein the laser applicator comprises a first plurality of laser diodes wherein each laser diode selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 10 mW to about 150 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm, and a second plurality of laser diodes wherein each laser diode selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 80 mW to about 160 mW with light waves in the range of 780 nm to 980 nm.

4. A laser applicator according to claim 1, wherein the laser applicator comprises:

a printed circuit board provided with a connector configured for communicating and cooperating with a laser control device;

a contact plate configured to cooperate with the printed circuit board, the contact plate provided with at least one transparent window;

at least one laser diode configured to communicate with the at least one transparent window in said contact plate, the laser diode interposed the contact plate and the printed circuit board and powered by said printed circuit board; and

a housing for containing therein the printed circuit board, the at least one laser diode, and the contact plate, the housing configured to contact the at least one transparent window in said contact plate with a subject'"'"'s body surface.

5. A laser applicator according to claim 4, wherein the contact plate comprises a material selected from a group comprising stiff materials and flexible resilient materials.

6. A laser applicator according to claim 4, wherein the laser applicator is additionally provided with a heat absorption device interposed the contact plate and the printed circuit board.

A laser applicator according to claim 6, wherein the heat absorption device is selected from a group containing a heat absorption plate interposed the contact plate and the printed circuit board, a heat radiation plate interposed the contact plate and the printed circuit board, and a thermal interface material coated onto a surface of the contact plate disposed toward the printed circuit board.

8. A laser applicator according to claim 1, wherein said laser applicator additionally comprises a vacuum suction device configured to engage a target portion of a subject'"'"'s body surface, and to concurrently and controllably provide a suction force and laser irradiation thereto.

9. A laser applicator according to claim 8, wherein the vacuum suction device is provided with a concave bowl-shaped inner surface and is configured to sealingly engage and cooperate with a laser-generating device at about the apex of the bowl-shaped inner surface.

10. A laser applicator according to claim 8, wherein the vacuum suction device is provided with a pressure relief device.

11. A lipolysis system configured for contacting a portion of a subject'"'"'s body surface and controllably applying a laser irradiation thereto for the purpose of liquefying fats in adipose cells in the subcutaneous region underlying the contacted portion of the body surface, the lipolysis system comprising the laser applicator of claim 1 and a laser control device configured for controllably communicating and cooperating with said laser applicator.

12. A lypolysis system according to claim 11, wherein the lypolysis system comprises

a plurality of said laser applicators and the laser control device is configured for separately and controllably communicating and cooperating with each laser applicator of said plurality of laser applicators.

13. A lipolysis system according to claim 12, wherein each laser applicator of said plurality of laser applicators is provided with at least one hinge configured for engaging and cooperating with one hinge provided on another laser applicator of said plurality of laser applicators.

A lipolysis system according to claim 12, wherein each laser applicator of said plurality of laser applicators is provided with a pair of hinges wherein each hinge is configured for engaging and cooperating with one hinge provided on another laser applicator of said plurality of laser applicators.

A lypolysis system according to claim 11, wherein said laser applicator additionally comprises a vacuum suction device configured to engage a target portion of a subject'"'"'s body surface for concurrently and controllably providing a suction force and laser irradiation thereto, and a vacuum pump for controllably providing a suction force to said vacuum suction device.

A lipolysis system according to claim 14, wherein the lipolysis system comprises a plurality of laser applicators wherein each laser applicator additionally comprises a vacuum suction device, and a vacuum pump configured for separately and controllably communicating and cooperating with each laser applicator of said plurality of laser applicators.

17. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the lipolysis system of claim 11, the method comprising:

a first step of contacting at least one target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the laser applicator, and a second step of controllably irradiating the at least one target portion with laser wavelengths for a selected period of time.

18. A method according to claim 17, wherein the first step and second step are repeated at least once during a treatment session.

19. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the laser applicator of claim 1, the method comprising:

a first step of contacting at least one target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the laser applicator; and

a second step of controllably irradiating the at least one target portion with laser wavelengths for a selected period of time.

20. A method according to claim 19, wherein the first step and second step are repeated at least once during a treatment session.

21. A lipolysis system configured for concurrently contacting and controllably providing low-power laser irradiation to a plurality of targeted portions of a subject'"'"'s body surface for the purpose of liquefying fats in adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying the targeted body surface portions;

the lipolysis system comprising;

a first laser applicator configured to contact a subject'"'"'s body surface for providing laser irradiation thereto, the first laser applicator comprising a plurality of low-power laser diodes;

a second laser applicator configured to contact a subject'"'"'s body surface for providing laser irradiation thereto, the second laser applicator comprising at least one low-power laser diode; and

a laser control device configured for controllably communicating and cooperating with said first laser applicator and said second laser applicator.

22. A lipolysis system according to claim 21, provided with a plurality of said first laser applicators, and with a plurality of said second laser applicators.

23. A lipolysis system according to claim 21, wherein the first laser applicator comprises a laser diode selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 10 mW to about 100 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm.

A lipolysis system according to claim 22, wherein the first laser applicator comprises at least one low-power laser diode selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 10 mW to about 100 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm, and at least one laser diode selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 80 mW to about 160 mW with light waves in the range of 780 nm to 980 nm.

25. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the lipolysis system of claim 21, the method comprising:

a first step of contacting a first target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the first laser applicator, and a second target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the second laser applicator; and

a second step of controllably irradiating the first and second target portions for a selected period of time.

26. A method according to claim 25, wherein the first step and second step are repeated at least once during a treatment session.

27. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the lipolysis system of claim 22, the method comprising:

a first step of contacting a plurality of target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the plurality of first laser applicators, and a plurality of second target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the plurality of second laser applicator; and

a second step of controllably irradiating the pluralities of first and second target portions for a selected period of time.

28. A method according to claim 27, wherein the first step and second step are repeated at least once during a treatment session.

29. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the lipolysis system of claim 21, the method comprising a sequence of:

a first step of contacting a first target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the first laser applicator, and a second target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the second laser applicator; and

a second step comprising the subject mounting a manipulably controllable whole body vibration device; and

a third step of controllably irradiating the first and second target portions while concurrently controllably providing vibrations therefrom the whole body vibration device, for a selected period of time.

30. A method according to claim 29, wherein the sequence of first step, second step and third step, is repeated at least once during a treatment session.

31. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the lipolysis system of claim 22, the method comprising a sequence of:

a first step of contacting a plurality of target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the plurality of first laser applicators, and a plurality of second target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the plurality of second laser applicator;

a second step comprising the subject mounting a manipulably controllable whole body vibration device; and

a third step of controllably irradiating the pluralities of first and second target portions while concurrently controllably providing vibrations therefrom the whole body vibration device, for a selected period of time.

32. A method according to claim 31, wherein the sequence of first step, second step and third step, is repeated at least once during a treatment session.

33. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the lipolysis system of claim 21, the method comprising a sequence of:

a first step of administering an injection of a mesotherapy composition into a subcutaneous region underlying a first target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface;

a second step contacting the first target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the first laser applicator, and a second target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the second laser applicator; and

a third step of controllably irradiating the first and second target portions for a selected period of time.

34. A method according to claim 33, wherein the sequence of first step, second step and third step, is repeated at least once during a treatment session.

35. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the lipolysis system of claim 22, the method comprising a sequence of:

a first step of administering an injection of a mesotherapy composition into a subcutaneous region underlying a first plurality of target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface;

a second step of contacting the plurality of target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the plurality of first laser applicators, and a plurality of second target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the plurality of second laser applicator; and

a third step of controllably irradiating the pluralities of first and second target portions for a selected period of time.

36. A method according to claim 35, wherein the sequence of first step, second step and third step, is repeated at least once during a treatment session.

37. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the lipolysis system of claim 21, the method comprising a sequence of:

a first step of administering an injection of a composition comprising phosphatidylcholine deoxycholate into a subcutaneous region underlying a first target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface;

a second step contacting the first target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the first laser applicator, and a second target portion of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the second laser applicator; and

a third step of controllably irradiating the first and second target portions for a selected period of time.

38. A method according to claim 37, wherein the sequence of first step, second step and third step, is repeated at least once during a treatment session.

39. A method for liquefying fats in a subject'"'"'s adipose cells in subcutaneous regions underlying their body surfaces using the lipolysis system of claim 22, the method comprising a sequence of:

a first step of administering an injection of a composition comprising phosphatidylcholine deoxycholate into a subcutaneous region underlying a first plurality of target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface;

a second step of contacting the plurality of target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the plurality of first laser applicators, and a plurality of second target portions of the subject'"'"'s body surface with the plurality of second laser applicator; and

a third step of controllably irradiating the pluralities of first and second target portions for a selected period of time.

40. A method according to claim 39, wherein the sequence of first step, second step and third step, is repeated at least once during a treatment session.
