Antenna system for tracking of a position of an inserted object arranged relative to a target area within a body, said system is configured to detect the position of the inserted item and comprises a first antenna device and a second antenna device, at least said second antenna device is to be located outside said body, wherein an interface region between said body and at least said second antenna device at least partially consist of a dielectric medium having a relative permittivity closer to the permittivity of material within the body than the permittivity of air.
