1. System for measuring the refraction index of at least one medium, which system includes:

  • at least one optical waveguide (2, 44) having first and second ends and comprising at least one slanted Bragg grating (4, R1 . . . RN, RF1 . . . RFN), formed in a part of the waveguide, which is placed in contact with the medium, anda light source (10, 46, 50) optically coupled with the first end of the waveguide in order to send this light there and have it interact with the grating,this system being characterised in that it also includes;

    first means (17, P1 . . . PN) for measuring the optical power of the light diffracted to the radiation-mode continuum, when the light transmitted by the source interacts with the grating, andelectronic processing means (22, 48, 54) provided for supplying the value of the refraction index of the medium based on this optical power.
