1. A telecommunication system comprising:
- a Mobile Network,at least one Mobile Terminal operationally connectable to said Mobile Network,a Mobile Network Switching Node connected to said Mobile Network,an Intelligent Network Control Node connected to said Mobile Network Switching Node via a control interface,at least one Intelligent Network Application module connected with the Intelligent Network Control Node via an application interface, herein said Intelligent Network Control Node is connected to said Mobile Network Switching Node via a data interface for the exchange of Short Message Service messages, andcorrelation means for correlating said exchange of said Short Message Service messages through said data interface with destination control data exchanged through said control interface.

Abstract
A telecommunication system for transferring SMS messages between a first terminal and at least one second terminal or intelligent network service. The system comprises a mobile telecommunication system (5) and one or more mobile network switching nodes (2) acting as gateway between the mobile telecommunication system (5) and the remainder of the telecommunication system for sending and receiving SMS messages to and from mobile terminals (6a-6z), coupled to an Intelligent Network control node (1) and one or more message servers (3). The Intelligent Network control node (1), is coupled to the mobile network switching nodes (2) and the message servers (3) for providing Intelligent Network services in the telecommunication system. One or more message servers (3), routing messages in the telecommunication system are coupled to the Intelligent Network control node (1) and the mobile network switching nodes (2). The Intelligent Network control node (1) and the mobile network switching nodes (2) are adapted to exchange the SMS messages directly (101b). Further there is provided a method for transferring SMS messages in such a telecommunication system, between the Intelligent Network control node (1) and the mobile network switching nodes (2) among others for interactive message sequences.

a data interface towards said Mobile Network Switching Node for exchanging Short Message Service messages, and correlation means for correlating said exchange of said Short Message Service messages through said data interface with destination control data exchanged through said control interface.

10. A Mobile Network Switching Node connectable to an Intelligent Network Control Node via a control interface for controlling SMS message destinations, characterised in that said Mobile Network Switching Node comprising
a data interface towards an Intelligent Network Control Node adapted for exchanging Short Message Service messages, an output configured Link Layer Controller, an input configured Link Layer Controller, and an adapted Relay Layer Controller for executing the link and relay layer protocol for sending and receiving the Short Message Service (SMS) messages via the data interface

A method for transferring a Short Message Service message, comprising a header and a body, from a Mobile Terminal via Mobile Network Switching Node, control interfaces and data interface, Intelligent Network Control Node, and application interface to an Intelligent Network application module the method comprising the steps of:

transmitting of the Short Message Service message by the terminal to a Mobile Network Switching Node, checking the Short Message Service (SMS) message for possible invocation of an Intelligent Network Service by the Mobile Network Switching Node, forwarding the header by the Mobile Network Switching Node via a control interface to the Intelligent Network Control Node, forwarding the header from the Intelligent Network Control Node via an application interface to the application module, analyzing and adjusting the header by the application module, sending the header back to the Intelligent Network Control Node by the application module via the application interface, forwarding of the header by the Intelligent Network Control Node via the control interface to the Mobile Network Switching Node, updating of the Short Message Service message with the header received, by the Mobile Network Switching Node, forwarding the Short Message Service message by the Mobile Network Switching Node via a data interface to the Intelligent Network Control Node forwarding the Short Message Service message by the Intelligent Network Control Node via the application interface to the application module. - View Dependent Claims (14)
