1. A method for providing a security tag associated with meat or fish product packaging having a soaker pad therein, said method comprises the steps of:

  • providing a security tag that is encapsulated to be waterproof and wherein said security tag includes a pair of single open loop conductive traces that are separated from each other by a dielectric layer and wherein said first and second conductive layers are electrically coupled at a location through said dielectric layer; and

    disposing said security tag within the soaker pad.
