Abstract

To enable the gasket (3) to securely contact with the box type body (2) when both the body and the cover (1) are downsized and thinned, and prevent fluid leakage through the seal by lessening repulsion of the seal at the time of sealing the clearance between two members (1, 2) to avoid excessive deformation of the cover (1), the gasket (3) and the structure for sealing the clearance between the two members is made such that the main body (31) is adhered to the bottom surface (11) of the cover (1) having the peripheral wall (12), the step face (36) is formed by the body (31) and the lip portion (32) formed at the tip side of the body (31), the contact surface (35) is formed by the side wall (34) of the body (31) and the peripheral wall (12), and the step surface (36) is positioned at the outside from the lip portion (32).

6. The gasket for sealing a gap of two facing members, in which a main body is adhered to a bottom surface of one member having a peripheral wall, and a step surface is formed by said main body and a lip portion provided at a leading end side therefrom, wherein a contact surface is formed by a side wall of said main body and said peripheral wall, and said step surface is positioned at said peripheral wall side from said lip portion.

7. The gasket as claimed in claim 6, wherein a position of a burr generated by overflow is brought into inside contact with the peripheral wall of said one member, at a time when the gasket is adhered to the bottom surface of said one member in accordance with integral molding.

The structure for sealing between two members, wherein when the gasket as claimed in claim 6 is brought into contact with a peripheral wall of the other member, a position of a center line of the lip portion of said gasket in a cross section is positioned at an inner side from the position of a center line of a leading end surface of said peripheral wall in the cross section.

9. The structure for sealing between two members, wherein when the gasket as claimed in claim 7 is brought into contact with a peripheral wall of the other member, a position of a center line of the lip portion of said gasket in a cross section is positioned at an inner side from the position of a center line of a leading end surface of said peripheral wall in the cross section.

10. The structure for sealing between two members, wherein when the gasket as claimed in claim 6 is brought into contact with a peripheral wall of the other member, a relation “

is established among a width A of a leading end surface of a peripheral wall of said other member in a cross section, a distance B between an outer end surface of said peripheral wall and an inner end surface of the peripheral wall of said one member, and a distance C from a position of a center line of a lip portion of said gasket to an inner end surface of the peripheral wall of said one member in a cross section.

11. The structure for sealing between two members, wherein when the gasket as claimed in claim 7 is brought into contact with a peripheral wall of the other member, a relation “

is established among a width A of a leading end surface of a peripheral wall of said other member in a cross section, a distance B between an outer end surface of said peripheral wall and an inner end surface of the peripheral wall of said one member, and a distance C from a position of a center line of a lip portion of said gasket to an inner end surface of the peripheral wall of said one member in a cross section.

12. The structure for sealing between two members as claimed in claim 8, wherein the inner end surface of the leading end portion of the peripheral wall of said other member is constituted by a tapered surface which is inclined to an outer side.

13. The structure for sealing between two members as claimed in claim 9, wherein the inner end surface of the leading end portion of the peripheral wall of said other member is constituted by a tapered surface which is inclined to an outer side.

14. The structure for sealing between two members as claimed in claim 10, wherein the inner end surface of the leading end portion of the peripheral wall of said other member is constituted by a tapered surface which is inclined to an outer side.

15. The structure for sealing between two members as claimed in claim 11, wherein the inner end surface of the leading end portion of the peripheral wall of said other member is constituted by a tapered surface which is inclined to an outer side.
