1. A method to manage objects in an information lifecycle management system, comprising:
- determining a score for each of the objects based on a score of at least one feature within respective ones of each of the objects, the score of the at least one feature being associated with a valuation of the at least one feature; and
managing each of the objects based on the score for each of the objects wherein higher scored objects are managed preferentially, wherein the determining a score for each of the objects includes;
determining a first set of statistics for each of the at least one feature based on information content associated with respective ones of each of the objects;
determining a second set of statistics for each of the at least one feature based on information content associated with a population of objects;
determining the score for each feature based on the first set of statistics and the second set of statistics;
determining the score for each of the objects based on the score for each feature in respective ones of each of the objects; and
determining a score for each of the objects based on a score of at least one feature within each of the objects includes summing a predetermined number of top scores of features in each of the objects.

The method also includes managing each of the objects based on the score for each of the objects wherein higher scored objects are managed preferentially.
