Abstract

Trading software may receive trading information from an exchange. The trading software may use the trading information to compute an estimate of last traded total sweep quantity. The trading software may also display the last traded total sweep quantity on a trading screen.

Claims

1. A method for electronic trading information, the method comprising:

receiving a plurality of updates from an exchange, wherein each of the updates comprises information about trades executed on the exchange;

determining a last traded total sweep quantity using the updates, wherein the last traded total sweep quantity indicates a number of trades executed at least two different price levels; and

displaying the last traded total sweep quantity on a trading screen.

2. A computer readable medium having stored therein instructions for causing a central processing unit to execute the method of claim 1.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining a last traded quantity for a last traded price; and

displaying the last traded quantity.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining a deleted order quantity; and

displaying the deleted order quantity.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein each of the updates comprises a last traded quantity at a last traded price, and wherein determining the last traded total sweep quantity comprises computing a sum of the last traded quantities of the updates.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising performing a single update of the trading screen using the updates.

7. A method of displaying market information relating to a tradeable object, the method comprising:

dynamically displaying a quantity indicator associated with at least one order to buy the tradeable object in relation to a static axis of prices;

dynamically displaying a quantity indicator associated with at least one order to sell the tradeable object in relation to the static axis of prices; and

dynamically displaying a quantity indicator associated with an estimate of a last traded total sweep quantity in relation to the static axis of prices.

8. A graphical user interface for displaying an estimate of a last traded total sweep quantity of a tradeable object, the graphical user interface comprising:

a first display region for dynamically displaying quantity associated with orders to buy the tradeable object;

a second display region for dynamically displaying quantity associated with orders to sell the tradeable object;

a third display region for dynamically displaying the estimated last traded total sweep quantity for the tradeable object; and

wherein, the first, second and third regions dynamically display information in relation to a static axis of prices.
