an electrically powered appliance capable of conducting a useful cycle of operation, the appliance having an external surface; an adapter with an enclosure, the adapter being capable of being mounted to the external surface of the appliance; a cavity in the enclosure, the enclosure being movable between a first orientation, where the cavity is accessible exteriorly of the appliance, and a second orientation, where the cavity is substantially enclosed by the appliance system; an electrical service interface within the cavity; and a consumer electronic device at least partially receivable within the cavity;
