- (a) at least first and second adjacent housings, each housing having an upper portion;
(b) at least one openable lid provided on the upper portions, the lid having an inner surface;
(c) a fluid flow path extending from a dirty fluid inlet to a clean air outlet of the surface cleaning apparatus and including a suction motor; and
,(d) an air flow passage from the first housing to the second housing forming part of the fluid flow path and defined as a volume between the inner surface of the lid and the upper portions of the first and second housings,whereby, when the lid is opened, the airflow passage is accessible.
