Abstract

The present disclosure relates to devices that may be used for the detection of allergens.

Claims

1. A device comprising:

one or more detection units configured to detachably connect to one or more microfluidic chips and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more allergens.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the one or more detection units configured to detachably connect to one or more microfluidic chips and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more allergens comprise:

one or more detection units configured to detect the one or more allergen indicators that are associated with the one or more allergens that are airborne.

3. The device of claim 1, wherein the one or more detection units configured to detachably connect to one or more microfluidic chips and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more allergens comprise:

one or more detection units configured to detect the one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more food products.

4. The device of claim 1, wherein the one or more detection units configured to detachably connect to one or more microfluidic chips and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more allergens comprise:

one or more detection units configured to detect the one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more weeds, grasses, trees, mites, animals, molds, fungi, insects, rubbers, metals, chemicals, autoallergens, or human autoallergens.

5. The device of claim 1, wherein the one or more detection units configured to detachably connect to one or more microfluidic chips and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more allergens comprise:

one or more detection units that are calibrated for an individual.

6. The device of claim 1, further comprising:

one or more display units operably associated with the one or more detection units.

10. The device of claim 6, wherein the one or more display units operably associated with the one or more detection units comprise:

one or more display units that indicate an identity of the one or more allergens present within one or more samples.

12. The device of claim 6, wherein the one or more display units operably associated with the one or more detection units comprise:

one or more display units that are calibrated for an individual.

13. A device comprising:

one or more reagent delivery units that are configured to operably associate with one or more microfluidic chips and provide one or more reagents to the one or more microfluidic chips; and

one or more detection units configured to detachably associate with the one or more microfluidic chips and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators.

20. The device of claim 13, wherein the one or more detection units configured to detachably associate with the one or more microfluidic chips and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators comprise:

one or more detection units configured to detect the one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more food products.

21. The device of claim 13, wherein the one or more detection units configured to detachably associate with the one or more microfluidic chips and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators comprise:

one or more detection units configured to detect the one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more weeds, grasses, trees, mites, animals, molds, fungi, insects, rubbers, metals, chemicals, autoallergens, or human autoallergens.

23. The device of claim 13, wherein the one or more detection units configured to detachably associate with the one or more microfluidic chips and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators comprise:

one or more detection units that are calibrated for an individual.

24. The device of claim 13, further comprising:

one or more display units that are operably associated with the one or more detection units.

28. The device of claim 24, wherein the one or more display units that are operably associated with the one or more detection units comprise:

one or more display units that indicate an identity of one or more allergens present within one or more samples.

30. The device of claim 24, wherein the one or more display units that are operably associated with the one or more detection units comprise:

one or more display units that are calibrated for an individual.

31. A device comprising:

one or more centrifugation units that are configured to operably associate with one or more microfluidic chips; and

33. The device of claim 31, wherein the one or more centrifugation units that are configured to operably associate with one or more microfluidic chips comprise:

one or more centrifugation units configured to provide for chromatographic separation of the one or more samples.

36. The device of claim 31, wherein the one or more detection units that are operably associated with the one or more centrifugation units and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators within one or more samples that are included within the one or more microfluidic chips comprise:

one or more detection units configured to detect the one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more allergens that are airborne.

37. The device of claim 31, wherein the one or more detection units that are operably associated with the one or more centrifugation units and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators within one or more samples that are included within the one or more microfluidic chips comprise:

one or more detection units configured to detect the one or more allergen indicators that are associated with one or more food products.

40. The device of claim 31, wherein the one or more detection units that are operably associated with the one or more centrifugation units and configured to detect one or more allergen indicators within one or more samples that are included within the one or more microfluidic chips comprise:

one or more detection units that are calibrated for an individual.

41. The device of claim 31, further comprising:

one or more display units that are operably associated with the one or more detection units.

45. The device of claim 41, wherein the one or more display units that are operably associated with the one or more detection units comprise:

one or more display units that indicate an identity of one or more allergens present within the one or more samples.

47. The device of claim 41, wherein the one or more display units that are operably associated with the one or more detection units comprise:

one or more display units that are calibrated for an individual.

48. The device of claim 31, further comprising:

one or more reservoir units configured to operably associate with the one or more microfluidic chips.
