Abstract

An apparatus, program product and method utilize voice recognition to process voice messages in an automated manner to detect spoken numbers contained therein. Detected spoken numbers can then be analyzed to automatically determine whether such numbers are telephone numbers, and thus enable such numbers to be automatically dialed.

Claims

1. A method of processing a voice message, the method comprising:

performing voice recognition on at least a portion of the voice message to detect a spoken number in the voice message;

automatically determining that the spoken number is a telephone number; and

automatically dialing the detected spoken number.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein automatically dialing the detected spoken number is performed in response to user input.

3. An apparatus, comprising:

a memory within which is resident a voice message; and

a program resident in the memory and configured to perform voice recognition on at least a portion of the voice message to detect a spoken number in the voice message, to automatically detect whether the spoken number is a telephone number, and to automatically dial the detected spoken number.

4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the program is configured to automatically dial the spoken number in response to user input.

5. A program product, comprising:

a program configured to perform voice recognition on at least a portion of a voice message to detect a spoken number in the voice message, to automatically detect whether the spoken number is a telephone number, and to automatically dial the detected spoken number; and

a physical computer readable medium storing the program.

6. The program product of claim 5, wherein the computer readable medium includes a recordable medium.

7. The program product of claim 5, wherein the program is configured to automatically dial the spoken number in response to user input.
