1. A method to be executed at least in part in a computing device for assessing severity of a performance metric within a scorecard structure, the method comprising:
- receiving performance metric data;
determining an input value for the performance metric;
determining a set of boundaries for a status band associated with the performance metric;
determining the status band based on the input value and the boundaries;
determining a relative position of the input value within the status band; and
computing a score for the performance metric based on the relative position of the input value and a range of scores available within the status band.

Abstract
Performance metric scores are computed and aggregated by determining status bands based on boundary definitions and relative position of an input value within the status bands. A behavior of the score within a score threshold in response to a behavior of the input is defined based on a status indication scheme. Users may be enabled to define or adjust computation parameters graphically. Once individual scores are computed, aggregation for different levels may be performed based on a hierarchy of the metrics and rules of aggregation.
