Abstract

A system for operation and visualization of multiple content filters, including a plurality of filter interfaces for setting parameters of corresponding content filters that filter a catalog of assets, each content filter having a lock status being in a locked or an unlocked state, and each filter interface having a display generator for rendering a user interface display, wherein at least one such user interface display for a content filter is dependent upon the lock status of another content filter, and a lock processor for setting the lock status of at least one content filter. A method and a computer readable storage medium are also described and claimed.

Claims

1. A computer readable storage medium containing instructions which when executed implement a system for operation and visualization of multiple content filters, comprising:

instructions for a plurality of user interfaces UI₁, UI₂, . . . , UI_n, used for setting parameters of corresponding content filters CF₁, CF₂, . . . , CF_n that filter content from a catalogue of content, each content filter CF_k having a lock status of being in a locked or an unlocked state, and each user interface UI_k indicating content that is filtered from the catalogue by the content filters other than CF_k that are locked; and

instructions for a lock processor for setting and clearing the lock statuses of the content filters by means of lock controls.

2. The computer readable storage medium of claim 1 wherein each user interface UI_k indicates an alphanumeric string dependent upon the lock statuses of the content filters other than CF_k.

3. The computer readable storage medium of claim 1 wherein the alphanumeric string is a statistic of the catalogue as filtered by the content filters other than CF_k that are locked.

4. The computer readable storage medium of claim 1 wherein UI_k is selectively controllable so as to indicate either all content from the catalogue, or else content that is filtered from the catalogue by the content filters other than CF_k that are locked.

5. The computer readable storage medium of claim 1 further comprising instructions for generating a user interface comprising a button for clearing the parameters of at least one content filter.

6. A method for operation and visualization of multiple content filters, comprising:

setting parameters of content filters CF₁, CF₂, . . . , CF_n that filter content from a catalogue of content, each content filter CF_k having a lock status of being in a locked or an unlocked state;

setting and clearing the lock statuses of the content filters by means of lock controls; and

rendering, for each content filter CF_k, a user interface display UI_k that indicates content that is filtered from the catalogue by the content filters other than CF_k that are locked.

7. The method of claim 6 wherein each user interface UI_k comprises an alphanumeric string dependent upon the lock statuses of the content filters other than CF_k.

8. The method of claim 6 wherein the alphanumeric string is a statistic of the catalogue as filtered by the content filters other than CF_k that are locked.

9. The method of claim 6 wherein said rendering is selectively controllable to render UI_k such that UI_k indicates either all content from the catalogue, or else content that is filtered from the catalogue by the content filters other than CF_k that are locked.

10. The method of claim 6 further comprising clearing the parameters of at least one content filter.
