METHOD OF CONTROLLING TOUCH PAD IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL AND MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL THEREOF
First Claim
1. A method of controlling a touch pad in a mobile communication terminal, the method comprising:
- first controlling a display device to enter into an ON state, a touch pad light to enter into an ON state and the touch pad to enter into an active state;
second controlling the display device to enter into a dim state, the touch pad light to enter into an OFF state and the touch pad to maintain the active state, when there is no input on the touch pad within a predetermined first time period after the first controlling step; and
performing a function of the terminal indicated by the input on the touch pad, when there is input on the touch pad within the predetermined first time period.

Abstract
A method of controlling a touch pad in a mobile communication terminal. The method includes first controlling a display device to enter into an ON state, a touch pad light to enter into an ON state and the touch pad to enter into an active state, second controlling the display device to enter into a dim state, the touch pad light to enter into an OFF state and the touch pad to maintain the active state, when there is no input on the touch pad within a predetermined first time period after the first controlling step, and performing a function of the terminal indicated by the input on the touch pad, when there is input on the touch pad within the predetermined first time period.
