Abstract
An analyte monitoring system is provided. The system may include a housing (200) and a visual display (206) on the housing (200), the visual display (206) having at lease one visual indicator position next to a corresponding marking (208, 210, 212, 214 and 216) on the housing (200). The system may include a processor (60) driving the visual display (206), wherein the processor (60) runs software that is modifiable to provide a variable user interface on the visual display (206). The system may include a wireless communication to allow applets or programs to be down-loaded by the processor (60).

providing an analyte monitor; answering a plurality of questions shown on a display on the analyte monitor, using a processor to analyze response to said questions; and downloading a program containing a user interface selected by the server based on said responses, said user interface selected based on the appropriate user interface class. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12)

- audio alerts, visual alerts, vibratory alerts, or email alters to your email account or that of a third party such as a doctor or family member.

19. The method of any claim above wherein the monitor will email the result to an email account with software that tracks a users testing history and/or glucose readings.

20. A method comprising:

providing an analyte monitor; answering a plurality of questions displayed by the analyte monitor, loading response to said questions to a server; downloading a program that changes the functionality of the monitor and is selected by the server based on said responses.
