Abstract

A method and system for transmitting an electronic message from a first user device to a second user device is disclosed. The system comprises at least a first server and a second server communicatively connectable to each other and to the first and second user device respectively. The first server is arranged for receiving and storing the electronic message from the first user device and for transmitting a portion of the electronic message to the second server. A portion of an electronic message may e.g. comprise one or more fields of the header of the electronic message or a new characteristic portion assembled on the basis of characteristics of the electronic message. The second server is arranged for receiving said portion of the electronic message from said first server and for presenting the portion of said electronic message in a selectable manner to said second user device. The first server is arranged for transmitting the electronic message to the second user device upon selection of the portion of said electronic message at the second user device.

Claims

1. A system for transmitting an electronic message from a first user device to a second user device, the system comprising at least a first server and a second server communicatively connectable to each other and to the first and second user device respectively, wherein:

the first server is arranged for;

receiving and storing the electronic message from the first user device;

transmitting a portion of the electronic message to the second server, and

transmitting the electronic message to the second user device upon selection of said portion of said electronic message at said second user device, and wherein

the second server is arranged for;

receiving said portion of said electronic message from said first server, and

presenting said portion of said electronic message in a selectable manner to said second user device.

2. The system according to claim 1, said electronic message being addressed to a number of addressees employing a plurality of second user devices, wherein said system is arranged for duplicating said electronic message such that the resulting number of electronic messages stored in the system is less than the number of addresses of said electronic messages.

3. The system according to claim 1, said electronic message being addressed to a number of addressees employing a plurality of second user device, wherein said system is arranged such that only said first server stores said electronic message.

4. The system according to claim 1, wherein said first server and second server are integrated.

The system according to claim 1, wherein said second server is arranged to issue a query for said portion of said electronic message to said first server in response to receiving an instruction signal from said second user device and said first server is arranged to transmit said portion of said electronic message to said second server in response to receiving said query.

6. The system according to claim 1, wherein at least said first server is arranged for receiving a spam notification signal from said second user device related to said electronic message.

7. The system according to claim 6, wherein said first server is arranged to limit access to said electronic message in response to receiving one or more spam notification signals related to said electronic message.

8. The system according to claim 7, wherein said first server is arranged to limit access to said electronic message solely in response to receiving a single spam notification signal.

9. The system according to claim 7, wherein said first server is arranged to delete said electronic message.

10. The system according to claim 7, wherein said first server is arranged to transmit a deletion signal to said second server for deleting said portion of said electronic message.

11. The system according to claim 7, wherein said system comprises a register with login information of users of the first and second user devices.

12. The system according to claim 7, wherein said system is a secure system.

13. The system according to claim 7, wherein said first server is arranged to:

store identification data of the user of said first device in response to receiving a spam notification signal from said second device related to said electronic message;

restrict access to at least one further electronic messages of said user using said user identification data.

14. The system according to claim 7, wherein said system is further arranged to send a warning message to said first device in response to receiving a spam notification signal from said second user device.

15. The system according to claim 7, wherein said system is further arranged to restrict access to said system for a user of said first user device in response to receiving a spam notification signal from said second user device.

16. The system according to claim 7, wherein said first and second servers comprise programmable databases.

17. A method for transmitting an electronic message from a first user device to a second user device, comprising:

receiving and storing an electronic message from a first user device by a first server;

transmitting a portion of said electronic message to a second server;

providing said portion of said electronic message to a second user device;

transmitting said electronic message from said first server to said second user device in response to selection of said portion of said electronic message at said second user device.

18. The method according to claim 17, further comprising duplicating said electronic message such that the resulting number of electronic messages is less than the number of addressees of said electronic message.

19. The method according to claim 17, further comprising storing said electronic message only once.

20. The method according to claim 17, wherein said first server and said second server are integrated.

21. The method according to claim 17, further comprising:

receiving an instruction signal from said second user device;

issuing a query for said portion of said electronic message in response to said instruction signal;

transmitting said portion of said electronic message to said second server in response to said query.

22. The method according to claim 17, further comprising receiving a spam notification signal from said second user device related to said electronic message.

23. The method according to claim 22, further comprising limiting access to said electronic message in response to receiving one or more of said spam notification signals related to said electronic message.

24. The method according to claim 23, said limiting access to said electronic message is performed in response to receiving a single spam notification signal.

25. The method according to claim 23, wherein said limiting access to said electronic message involves deleting of said electronic message.

26. The method according to claim 22, further comprising transmitting a deletion signal to said second server for deleting said portion of said electronic message.

27. The method according to claim 17, further comprising:

storing identification data of a user of a first device in response to receiving a spam notification signal from said second device related to said electronic message;

restricting access to at least one further electronic message of said user, using said user identification data.

28. The method according to claim 17, further comprising sending a warning message to said first device in response to receiving a spam notification signal from said second user device.

29. The method according to claim 17, further comprising restricting access to said system for a user of said first user device in response to receiving a spam notification signal from said second device.

30. The method according to claim 17, further comprising operating at least said first server as a programmable database.

31. A computer program comprising software code portions adapted for, when installed on and run by an electronic system, performing the method according to claim 17.

32. A carrier containing the computer program of claim 31.
