1. A system for facilitating a market for channels that enable access to Internet users, comprising:
- a channel server including multiple channels, each of which are defined at least in part by an activity profile associated with the channel, where for at least one of the channels, the associated activity profile is satisfiable by a client based upon interaction of the client with multiple different independent websites;
a search interface configured to receive an input query and return one or more of the channels as search results in response to the input query; and
a channel tool configured to enable portions of the search results to be selected and used to implement a desired channel.

Abstract
As one example, a system for facilitating a market for channels is provided that enable access to Internet users. a channel server including multiple channels, each of which are defined at least in part by an activity profile associated with the channel, the channels being configured to be loaded at a client monitor, where the client monitor is configured to passively and dynamically monitor Internet activity of a plurality of clients to determine whether such clients satisfy the activity profiles of the channels, and where for a given activity profile and given client, the client monitor is configured to monitor Internet activity of such client across multiple different unaffiliated websites to determine whether such client satisfies such activity profile; and a user interface enabling prospective users of the channels to view and select from the multiple channels on the channel server, the user interface including; a channel display configured to display characteristics and usage terms of each of a plurality of displayed channels, the displayed channels being selected from the multiple channels on the channel server; and a selector configured to enable a user to select one or more of the displayed channels and thereby implement a desired channel. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19)

20. A system for monitoring client Internet activity, comprising:

a channel store accessible from a central channel server and having a plurality of stored channels, where each channel specifies behavioral search parameters that correlate to and are triggered by specified Internet browsing activity of a client device; and a channel interface operatively coupled with the channel server and operable as a front-end user interface to provide an electronic channel marketplace that enables participants to; view information about the stored channels; transact for rights to use one or more of the stored channels; specify behavioral search parameters in order to create new channels or modify stored channels; and activate a desired channel, whereupon the system is configured to distribute the desired channel to each of a plurality of distributed monitoring domains that are associated with multiple different Internet Service Providers and that are each configured to monitor Internet browsing activity of a plurality of client devices to identify triggering of the desired channel. - View Dependent Claims (21, 22, 23)
