Terminal and method for the simultaneous transmission of video and high-speed data
First Claim
1. Terminal in a communication system linked to a group of antennas, the terminal being made up of a front end module connected to digital processing circuits via a RFIC circuit designed for MIMO techniques, for a simultaneous dual-band reception or transmission of video signals and data in a domestic environment, wherein:
- at least two antennas being broadband and dual-access, each of the accesses corresponding to a path for receiving or transmitting signals in a first or a second frequency band;
the front end module comprises first switches connected to the paths for receiving or transmitting signals in the first frequency band, and second switches connected to the paths for receiving or transmitting signals in the second frequency band and selective high-pass filters in the paths for receiving or transmitting signals in the highest frequency band.

Abstract
For a simultaneous dual-band reception or transmission of video signals and data in a domestic environment, a terminal in a communication system is made up of a front end module connected to digital processing circuits via a circuit designed for MIMO techniques. At least two antennas linked to the terminal are broadband and dual-access, each of the accesses corresponding to a path for receiving or transmitting signals in a first or a second frequency band.
The front end module comprises first switches connected to the paths for receiving or transmitting signals in the first frequency band, and second switches connected to the paths for receiving or transmitting signals in the second frequency band. It also comprises selective high-pass filters in the paths for receiving or transmitting signals in the highest frequency band.

4. Method for selecting different frequency bands in order to simultaneously transmit or receive video signals and high-speed data in a communication system with a plurality of synchronous transmit and receive channels, which system includes a group of antennas linked to respective baseband digital processing circuits via an FEM terminal and an RFIC circuit, which method is wherein:
-
the video signals and the high-speed data are transmitted or received simultaneously in two different frequency bands, a first upper frequency band and a second lower frequency band, through dual-access dual-band antennas, before being transmitted, for the signals transmitted or received in the first frequency band, to switches of the RFIC circuit in this frequency band and; the video signals and the data, received or transmitted in the upper frequency band on one of the accesses of the dual-band antennas, are filtered by high-pass filters for the upper-frequency-band reception before being switched on to the various transmit ports or receive ports of a first MIMO RF transmission circuit while the video signals and the data, received or transmitted in the lower frequency band on the other of the accesses of the dual-band antennas, are switched on to the various transmit ports or receive ports of a second MIMO RF transmission circuit. - View Dependent Claims (5)
