Abstract
Methods and devices for ablating portions of a tissue volume with electromagnetic radiation (EMR) to produce lattices of EMR-treated ablation islets in the tissue are disclosed, including lattices of micro-holes, micro-grooves, and other structures. Also, methods and devices for using the ablated islets are disclosed, including to deliver chromophores, filler, drugs and other substances to the tissue volume.

74. A device for treating soft tissue comprising:
-
a source of optical radiation configured to generate sufficient optical radiation to ablate tissue; an output aperture configured to emit the optical radiation onto the soft tissue in a pattern of treatment areas separated by untreated areas such that the optical radiation forms voids in the tissue at the treatment areas; an optical path extending from the source of the optical radiation to the output aperture, and configured to deliver the optical radiation to the soft tissue; a chromophore applicator configured to inject a chromophore into the voids formed by the optical radiation generated by the source during operation. - View Dependent Claims (75)
