Abstract

Disclosed herein is an image processing device capable of correcting distortion of au original image picked up bad a wide-angle lens using distortion correcting parameters formed in a form of a lattice. The image processing device includes a processing unit configured to sharably process distortion correcting parameters for at least one of an arbitrary pan angle and an arbitrary tilt angle on a basis of a fact that distortion of the wide-angle lens has symmetry from a central point of an optical axis.

Claims

1. An image processing device capable of correcting distortion of an original image picked up by a wide-angle lens using distortion correcting parameters formed in a form of a lattice, said image processing device comprising:

a processing unit configured to sharably process distortion correcting parameters for at least one of an arbitrary pan angle and am arbitrary tilt angle on a basis of a fact that distortion of said wide-angle lens has symmetry from a central point of an optical axis.

2. The image processing device according to claim 1,

wherein said processing unit generates new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to an optical axis center line touching the central point of the optical axis by subjecting said distortion correcting parameters to mirror image processing with said optical axis center line as an axis.

3. The image processing device according to claim 1,

wherein said processing unit generates new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to an optical axis center line as a center in a pan direction touching the central point of the optical axis by subjecting said distortion correcting parameters to mirror image processing in the pan direction with said optical axis center line as an axis.

4. The image processing device according to claim 1,

wherein said processing unit generates new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to an optical axis center line as a center in a tilt direction touching the central point of the optical axis by subjecting said distortion correcting parameters to mirror image processing in the tilt direction with said optical axis center line as an axis.

5. The image processing device according to claim 1,

wherein said processing unit generates new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to a first optical axis center line as a center in a pan direction touching the central point of the optical axis and a second optical axis center line as a center in a tilt direction touching the central point of the optical axis by subjecting said distortion correcting parameters to mirror image processing in the pan direction and the tilt direction with said first optical axis center line and said second optical axis center line as an axis.

6. The image processing device according to claim 2,

wherein said processing unit excludes an optical axis center region from objects for symmetrization.

7. The image processing device according to claim 2,

wherein said distortion correcting parameters include distortion correcting parameters prepared in advance for at least one of rotation, mirror image processing, and synthesis processing.

8. A camera device having an electronic pan and tilt function, said camera device comprising:

an image pickup element;

an optical system configured to form an image of a subject on said image pickup element, the optical system including a wide-angle lens having point-symmetric distortion with an optical axis as a center; and

an image processing device capable of correcting distortion of an original image picked up by said wide-angle lens and said image pickup element using distortion correcting parameters formed in a form of a lattice;

wherein said image processing device includes a processing unit configured to sharably process distortion correcting parameters for at least one of an arbitrary pan angle and an arbitrary tilt angle on a basis of a fact that distortion of said wide-angle lens has symmetry from a central point of the optical axis.

9. The camera device according to claim 8,

wherein said processing unit generates new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to an optical axis center line touching the central point of the optical axis by subjecting said distortion correcting parameters to mirror image processing with said optical axis center line as an axis.

10. The camera device according to claim 8,

wherein said processing unit generates new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to an optical axis center line as a center in a pan direction touching the central point of the optical axis by subjecting said distortion correcting parameters to mirror image processing in the pan direction with said optical axis center line as an axis.

11. The camera device according to claim 8,

wherein said processing unit generates new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to an optical axis center line as a center in a tilt direction touching the central point of the optical axis by subjecting said distortion correcting parameters to mirror image processing in the tilt direction with said optical axis center line as an axis.

12. The camera device according to claim 8,

wherein said processing unit generates new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to a first optical axis center line as a center in a pan direction touching the central point of the optical axis and a second optical axis center line as a center in a tilt direction touching the central point of the optical axis ba subjecting said distortion correcting parameters to mirror image processing in the pan direction and the tilt direction with said first optical axis center line and said second optical axis center line as an axis.

13. The camera device according to claim 9,

wherein said processing unit excludes an optical axis center region from objects for symmetrization.

14. The camera device according to claim 9,

wherein said distortion correcting parameters include distortion correcting parameters prepared in advance for at least one of rotation, mirror image processing, and synthesis processing.

15. An image processing method capable of correcting distortion of an original image picked up bit a wide-angle lens using distortion correcting parameters formed in a form of a lattice, said image processing method comprising:

generating new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to an optical axis center line touching a central point of an optical axis by subjecting distortion correcting parameters for at least one of an arbitrary pan angle and an arbitrary tilt angle to mirror image processing with the optical axis center line as an axis on a basis of a fact that distortion of said wide-angle lens has symmetry from the central point of the optical axis, and sharably processing the new distortion correcting parameters.

16. A program for making a computer perform image processing for correcting distortion of in original image picked up by a wide-angle lens using distortion correcting parameters formed in a form of a lattice, said program comprising:

generating new distortion correcting parameters symmetrically with respect to an optical axis center line touching a central point of an optical axis by subjecting distortion correcting parameters for at least one of an arbitrary pan angle and an arbitrary tilt angle to mirror image processing with the optical axis center line as an axis on a basis of a fact that distortion of said wide-angle lens has symmetry from the central point of the optical axis, and sharably processing the new distortion correcting parameters.
