Abstract

An image processing apparatus includes a preview creating unit, a storage unit, and a display unit. The storage unit stores therein in advance a sample image. The display unit displays, prior to receipt of image data, an input screen that displays the sample image and independent setting items, among a plurality of setting items available for the image data, independent of contents of the image data. The creating unit creates a preview image based on setting specified with respect to any of the independent setting items for the sample image, and the display unit displays the preview image.

Claims

1. An image processing apparatus comprising:

a creating unit that creates a preview image indicating a result of processing image data based on setting specified from a plurality of setting items available for the image data, the setting items including independent setting items independent of content of the image data;

a storage unit that stores therein in advance a sample image; and

a display unit that displays, prior to receipt of the image data, an input screen that displays the independent setting items and the sample image, wherein

the creating unit creates a preview image based on setting specified with respect to any of the independent setting items for the sample image, and

the display unit displays the preview image.

2. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the creating unit creates, upon receipt of the image data, a preview image of the image data based on the setting specified for the sample image.

3. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the display unit does not display a setting item, among the independent setting items, that is not suitable to be applied to the sample image.

4. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

the storage unit stores therein in advance a plurality of sample images, and

the display unit selectably displays the sample images.

5. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the display unit displays a notification in a specified area provided on the sample image.

6. The image processing apparatus according to claim 5, wherein the notification is a message related to operation state.

7. The image processing apparatus according to claim 5, wherein the notification is a message registered in advance.

8. A computer program product comprising a computer usable medium having computer readable program codes embodied in the medium that, when executed, causes a computer to execute:

creating a preview image indicating a result of processing image data based on setting specified from a plurality of setting items available for the image data, the setting items including independent setting items independent of content of the image data;

storing in advance a sample image; and

displaying, prior to receipt of the image data, an input screen that displays the independent setting items and the sample image, wherein

the creating includes creating a preview image based on setting specified with respect to any of the independent setting items for the sample image, and

the displaying includes displaying the preview image.

9. The computer program product according to claim 8, further causing the computer to execute receiving the image data, wherein

the creating includes creating a preview image of the image data based on the setting specified for the sample image.

10. The computer program product according to claim 8, wherein the displaying includes not displaying a setting item, among the independent setting items, that is not suitable to be applied to the sample image.

11. The computer program product according to claim 8, wherein

the storing includes storing in advance a plurality of sample images, and

the displaying includes selectably displaying the sample images.

12. The computer program product according to claim 8, wherein the displaying includes displaying a notification in a specified area provided on the sample image.

13. The computer program product according to claim 12, wherein the notification is a message related to operation state.

14. A preview image displaying method comprising:

creating a preview image indicating a result of processing image data based on setting specified from a plurality of setting items available for the image data, the setting items including independent setting items independent of content of the image data;

storing in advance a sample image; and

displaying, prior to receipt of the image data, an input screen that displays the independent setting items and the sample image, wherein

the creating includes creating a preview image based on setting specified with respect to any of the independent setting items for the sample image, and

the displaying includes displaying the preview image.

15. The preview image displaying method according to claim 14, further comprising receiving the image data, wherein

the creating includes creating a preview image of the image data based on the setting specified for the sample image.

16. The preview image displaying method according to claim 14, wherein the displaying includes not displaying a setting item, among the independent setting items, that is not suitable to be applied to the sample image.

17. The preview image displaying method according to claim 14, wherein

the storing includes storing in advance a plurality of sample images, and

the displaying includes selectably displaying the sample images.

18. The preview image displaying method according to claim 14, wherein the displaying includes displaying a notification in a specified area provided on the sample image.

19. The preview image displaying method according to claim 18, wherein the notification is a message related to operation state.

20. The preview image displaying method according to claim 18, wherein the notification is a message registered in advance.
