Abstract

The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for starting an internal combustion engine for a motor vehicle, wherein the internal combustion engine has an associated electrical machine (1) which is operated as a starter/generator. During starting, the electrical machine (1) is supplied with a voltage which is obtained from addition or from subtraction of the voltages which are produced on a first energy store (3) and the voltages which are produced on a second energy store (4).

10. A drive system for a motor vehicle comprising:

an internal combustion engine, the internal combustion engine having an associated electrical machine which can be operated as a starter/generator,

a first energy store connected to an inverter by which the electrical machine can be driven, and

a second energy store to which an electrical vehicle power supply system of the motor vehicle is connected,

wherein a DC/DC converter is arranged in parallel with the first energy store, and

wherein a second pole of the first energy store and a first pole of the second energy store or a first pole of the first energy store and a second pole of the second energy store are at a common potential.

11. The drive system as claimed in claim 10, wherein the first pole is at a positive potential, and the second pole is at a negative potential or ground.

12. The drive system as claimed in claim 10, wherein the common potential is formed by the motor vehicle bodywork.

13. The drive system as claimed in claim 10, wherein switching elements are provided between the inverter and at least one of the first energy store and the second energy store.

14. The drive system as claimed in claim 10, wherein the first energy store comprises a super capacitor.

15. A motor vehicle comprising a drive system as claimed in claim 10.

16. A motor vehicle comprising a drive system as claimed in claim 11.

17. A motor vehicle comprising a drive system as claimed in claim 12.

18. A motor vehicle comprising a drive system as claimed in claim 13.

19. A motor vehicle comprising a drive system as claimed in claim 14.

20. A method for operation of a drive system with an internal combustion engine for a motor vehicle in which the internal combustion engine is driven by an electrical machine and the electrical machine is driven by an inverter and is supplied with a voltage from at least one of a first energy store and a second energy store, comprising supplying the electrical machine with a voltage which is obtained from addition or subtraction of voltages produced on the first energy store and voltages produced on the second energy store.

21. The method as claimed in claim 20, wherein, during starting, the electrical machine is supplied with a voltage which is higher than the voltage which is produced on the second energy store.
