Abstract

An aerobic spa system comprising a water source providing water, an ozone source providing ozone, an ozone introduction mechanism adapted to introduce at least some of the ozone into the water, an ozone saturation mechanism adapted to cause at least some of the ozone to be dissolved into the water, a substantially enclosed chamber receiving water containing dissolved ozone; and a user at least partially disposed inside the chamber who comes into contact with the water containing dissolved ozone.

Claims

1. An aerobic spa system comprising:

a water source providing water;

an ozone source providing ozone;

an ozone introduction mechanism adapted to introduce at least some of the ozone into the water;

an ozone saturation mechanism adapted to cause at least some of the ozone to be dissolved into the water; and

a user at least partially disposed inside a chamber who comes into contact with the water containing dissolved ozone.

2. The aerobic spa system of claim 1 wherein the water containing dissolved ozone is further defined as having an ozone concentration of, at least, 0.3 milligram ozone per liter of water.

3. The aerobic spa system of claim 1 wherein the water source is further defined as providing water having a total dissolved solid level below 10 parts per million.

4. The aerobic spa system of claim 1 further comprising a degas assembly.

5. The aerobic spa system of claim 4 further comprising a first ozone destruct mechanism adapted to destroy ozone that exits the degas assembly.

6. The aerobic spa system of claim 1 further comprising:

a heart rate monitor sensor disposed on the skin of the user and inside the chamber and a wireless transmitter coupled to the heart rate monitor;

a wireless receiver adapted to receive heart rate data signals from the wireless transmitter; and

a heart monitor display coupled to the wireless receiver and disposed outside the chamber wherein the heart monitor display is adapted to display information related to the user'"'"'s heart rate.

7. The aerobic spa system of claim 1 wherein the user is further defined as assuming a seated position inside the chamber.

8. The aerobic spa system of claim 7 further comprising a steam generator and steam conduit adapted to deliver steam to the chamber.

9. The aerobic spa system of claim 1 wherein the chamber is further defined as being in the form of a shower stall.

10. An aerobic spa system comprising:

a water source providing water;

an ozone source providing ozone;

an ozone introduction mechanism adapted to introduce at least some of the ozone into the water;

an ozone saturation mechanism adapted to cause at least some of the ozone to be dissolved into the water whereby the ozone concentration is, at least, 0.3 milligram ozone per liter of water;

a degas assembly;

a first ozone destruct mechanism adapted to destroy ozone that exits the degas assembly;

a substantially enclosed chamber receiving water containing dissolved ozone; and

a user at least partially disposed inside the chamber who comes into contact with the water containing dissolved ozone.

11. The aerobic spa system of claim 10 wherein the chamber further includes a first jet that causes water with dissolved ozone to contact the skin of the user.

12. The aerobic spa system of claim 10 wherein the first ozone destruct mechanism is further defined as having a chamber packed with substantially porous material.

13. The aerobic spa system of claim 10 further comprising a second ozone destruct mechanism that is disposed substantially adjacent to the chamber and is adapted to destroy gaseous ozone exiting the chamber.

14. The aerobic spa system of claim 13 wherein the second ozone destruct mechanism is further defined as having a fan and a grill comprised of substantially porous material.

15. The aerobic spa system of claim 10 further comprising a steam generator and steam conduit adapted to deliver steam to the chamber.

16. The aerobic spa system of claim 10 wherein the ozone saturation mechanism is further defined as having an inner and outer conduit.

17. The aerobic spa system of claim 16 wherein the ozone saturation mechanism is further defined as having a mixer.

18. The aerobic spa system of claim 10 further comprising a deionization filter.

19. The aerobic spa system of claim 18 further comprising a second deionization filter.

20. The aerobic spa system of claim 10 wherein water source is further defined as providing distilled water.

21. The aerobic spa system of claim 10 further comprising a central processing unit.

22. The aerobic spa system of claim 21 wherein the central processing unit is adapted to automate the initiation of a spa cycle.

23. The aerobic spa system of claim 22 wherein the central processing unit is further adapted to automate the initiation of a cleaning cycle.

24. The aerobic spa system of claim 21 further comprising means for automating control over volume of water in the aerobic spa system based on the volume of water in the chamber.

25. The aerobic spa system of claim 21 further comprising a water heater.

26. The aerobic spa system of claim 25 further comprising means for preventing the water heater from overheating in an automated manner.

27. The aerobic spa system of claim 25 wherein the chamber further includes a user console adapted to permit the user to control the water heater.

28. The aerobic spa system of claim 27 wherein the user console is further defined as comprising air pressure buttons.

29. The aerobic spa system of claim 21 further comprising an operator control panel.

32. The aerobic spa system of claim 25 further comprising:

a heart rate monitor sensor disposed on the skin of the user and inside the chamber and a wireless transmitter coupled to the heart rate monitor;

a wireless receiver adapted to receive heart rate data signals from the wireless transmitter; and

means for controlling the water temperature in an automated manner based on the user'"'"'s heart rate data.

30. The aerobic spa system of claim 30 wherein the operator control panel is further defined as being in the form of a touch screen display panel.

31. The aerobic spa system of claim 31 wherein the operator control panel is adapted to permit an operator to regulate the desired water temperature and time duration of a spa cycle.

33. A method for delivering ozonated water to a user comprising the steps of:

creating ozonated water by (1) introducing ozone into water using an ozone introduction mechanism and (2) causing at least some of the ozone to be saturated in the water using an ozone saturation mechanism;

separating unsaturated ozone from water that exits the ozone saturation mechanism using a degas assembly; and

delivering ozonated water from the ozone saturation mechanism to a partially enclosed chamber; and

disposing a user inside the partially enclosed chamber, whereby the ozonated water contacts the skin of the user.

34. The method of claim 33 further comprising the step of destroying unsaturated ozone that exits the degas assembly using a first ozone destruct mechanism.

35. The method of claim 34 further comprising the steps of recirculating and reintroducing ozone into the water that exits the chamber.

36. An aerobic spa system comprising:

a substantially enclosed chamber receiving heat;

a user at least partially disposed inside the chamber;

a heart rate monitor sensor disposed on the skin of the user and inside the chamber and a wireless transmitter coupled to the heart rate monitor;

a wireless receiver adapted to receive heart rate data signals from the wireless transmitter; and

a heart monitor display coupled to the wireless receiver and disposed outside the chamber wherein the heart monitor display is adapted to display information related to the user'"'"'s heart rate.

37. The aerobic spa system of claim 36 wherein the chamber is further defined as receiving heat in the form of steam.

38. The aerobic spa system of claim 36 wherein the heart monitor display is further defined as being adapted to display information related to the user'"'"'s heart rate in graphical format over a period of time.
