Abstract

An apparatus for processing a signal and method thereof are disclosed. Data coding and entropy coding are performed with interconnection, and grouping is used to enhance coding efficiency. The present invention includes the steps of hierarchically extracting identification information indicating at least three or more data coding schemes. The identification information indicating two coding schemes having high frequencies of use for the identification information are extracted from different layers.

Claims

1. A method of processing a signal, comprising the steps of:

hierarchically extracting identification information indicating a plurality of data coding schemes; and

decoding data according to the data coding scheme corresponding to the extracted identification information,

wherein, the identification information indicating a pilot coding scheme included in a plurality of the data coding schemes and the identification information indicating a differential coding scheme included in a plurality of the data coding schemes are extracted from different layers.

2. The method of claim 1, the decoding step comprising the step of obtaining the data according to the data coding scheme using a reference value corresponding to the data and a difference value generated using the data.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the reference value is a pilot reference value.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the reference value is a difference reference value.

5. A method of processing a signal, comprising the step of:

hierarchically extracting identification information from the signal indicating at least three or more data coding schemes,

wherein the identification information indicating two coding schemes having high frequencies of use for the identification information are extracted from different layers.

6. A method of processing a signal, comprising the steps of:

extracting an identification information hierarchically from the signal according to a frequency of use of the identification information indicating a data coding scheme; and

decoding data according to the data decoding scheme corresponding to the extracted identification information.

The method of claim 6, wherein the identification information is extracted in a manner of extracting a first identification information and a second identification information hierarchically, wherein the first identification information indicates whether it is a first data coding scheme, and wherein the second identification information indicates whether it is a second data coding scheme.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the first identification information indicates whether it is a differential (DIFF) coding scheme and wherein the second identification information indicates whether it is a pilot coding scheme or a pulse code modulation (PCM) grouping scheme.

9. The method of claim 7, wherein the first data coding scheme is a PCM coding scheme.

10. The method of claim 7 or claim 9, wherein the second data coding scheme is a pilot based coding (PBC) coding scheme.

11. The method of claim 7 or claim 9, wherein the second data coding scheme is a DIFF coding scheme.

12. The method of claim 6, wherein the data are parameters and wherein the method further includes the step of reconstructing an audio signal using the parameters.

13. An apparatus for processing a signal, comprising:

an identifier extracting part configurable for hierarchically extracting from the signal identification information discriminating a plurality of data coding schemes; and

a decoding part decoding data according to the data coding scheme corresponding to the identification information.

14. A method of processing a signal, comprising:

encoding data according to a data coding scheme; and

generating identification information discriminating data coding schemes differing from each other in frequency of use used in encoding the data.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the identification information discriminates a pulse code modulation (PCM) coding scheme and a pilot based coding (PBC) coding scheme from each other.

16. The method of claim 14, wherein the identification information discriminates a PCM coding scheme and a differential (DIFF) coding scheme from each other.

17. An apparatus for processing a signal, comprising:

an encoding part configurable for encoding a data signal according to a data coding scheme; and

an identification information generating part configurable for generating identification information discriminating data coding schemes differing from each other in frequency of use used in encoding the data.
