Abstract

An image display device includes switches directly connected a constant current source to a self-luminous element to be able to detect a characteristic of the self-luminous element, generate a coordinates and convert information of the characteristic and coordinates into a system communication signal, transferring an input with a temperature variation to a system side.

Claims

1. An image display device, comprising:

a display unit constituted by a plurality of pixels;

signal lines that input a display signal voltage to the pixel;

a display control circuit that controls the display signal voltage;

output lines that output conditions inside the pixels, respectively;

a detection use power source;

change-over switches;

a detection circuit; and

a detection positional coordinates generation circuit,

wherein the detection use power source is connected with the pixels through the output lines and the change-over switches, the detection lines are connected with the detection circuit, and the detection circuit is connected with the detection positional coordinates generation circuit.

2. The device according to claim 1, wherein the change-over switches are connected with the detection use power source and the pixels at a time period other than a time period during which the display signal voltage is outputted on a one-display time period.

3. The device according to claim 1, wherein the detection use power source includes a constant current source.

The device according to claim 1, wherein the detection circuit detects a characteristic variation caused by a temperature variation of the pixel, and the detection positional coordinates generation circuit generates a coordinates signal corresponding to a position of a detected result obtained from the characteristic variation.

5. The device according to claim 1 further comprising change-over switches provided in the pixel to supply the display signal voltage by dividing a time to be used for R, G and B.

6. An image display device, comprising:

a display unit constituted by a plurality of pixels;

a shared line that inputs a display signal voltage to the pixel and outputs a condition of the pixel;

a display control circuit that controls the display signal voltage;

shared change-over switches;

a detection use power source;

power source change-over switches;

a detection circuit; and

a detection positional coordinates generation circuit,

wherein the detection use power source is connected with the pixels through the shared line, the shared change-over switches and the power source change-over switches,

the shared line is connected with the detection circuit, and

the detection circuit is connected with the detection positional coordinates generation circuit.

7. The device according to claim 6, wherein the shared change-over switch is connected with the detection use power source and the pixels at a time period other than a time period during which the display signal voltage is outputted on a one-display time period.

8. The device according to claim 6, wherein the detection use power source includes a constant current source.

The device according to claim 6, wherein the detection circuit detects a characteristic variation caused by a temperature variation of the pixel, and the detection positional coordinates generation circuit generates a coordinates signal corresponding to a position of a detected result obtained from the characteristic variation.

10. The device according to claim 6, further comprising change-over switches provided in the pixel to supply the display signal voltage by dividing a time to be used for R, G and B.

11. An image display device, comprising:

a display unit constituted by a plurality of pixels;

signal lines that input a display signal voltage to the pixel;

a display control circuit that controls the display signal voltage;

output lines that output conditions inside the pixels, respectively;

a detection use power source;

change-over switches;

a detection circuit;

a detection positional coordinates generation circuit; and

a system I/F converting circuit,

wherein the detection use power source is connected with the pixels through the output lines and the change-over switches,

the output lines are connected with the detection circuit,

the detection circuit is connected with the detection positional coordinates generation circuit, and

the detection positional coordinates generation circuit is connected with the system I/F converting circuit.

12. The device according to claim 11, wherein the change-over switch is connected with the detection use power source and the pixels at a time period other than a time period during which the display signal voltage is outputted on a one-display time period.

13. The device according to claim 11, wherein the detection use power source includes a constant current source.

The device according to claim 11, wherein the detection circuit detects a characteristic variation caused by a temperature variation of the pixel, the detection positional coordinates generation circuit generates a coordinates signal corresponding to a position of a detected result obtained from the characteristic variation, and the system I/F conversion circuit converts the detected result and coordinates signal into a communication signal to be communicated with a system with which the image display device is connected.

15. The device according to claim 11 further comprising change-over switches provided in the pixel to supply the display signal voltage by dividing a time to be used for R, G and B.

16. An image display device, comprising:

a display unit constituted by a plurality of pixels;

a shared line that inputs a display signal voltage to the pixel and outputs a condition of the pixel;

a display control circuit that controls the display signal voltage;

shared change-over switches, a detection use power source, power source change-over switches and a detection circuit; and

a detection positional coordinates generation circuit; and

a system I/F converting circuit,

wherein the detection use power source is connected with the pixels through the shared line, the shared change-over switches and the power source change-over switches,

the shared line is connected with the detection circuit,

the detection circuit is connected with the detection positional coordinates generation circuit, and

the detection positional coordinates generation circuit is connected with the system I/F converting circuit.

17. The device according to claim 16, wherein the change-over switch is connected with the detection use power source and the pixels at a time period other than a time period during which the display signal voltage is outputted on a one-display time period.

18. The device according to claim 16, the detection use power source includes a constant current source.

19. The device according to claim 16, wherein the detection circuit detects a characteristic variation caused by a temperature variation of the pixel, the detection positional coordinates generation circuit generates a coordinates signal corresponding to a position of a detected result obtained from the characteristic variation, and the system I/F conversion circuit converts the detected result and coordinates signal into a communication signal to be communicated with a system with which the image display device is connected.

20. The device according to claim 16, further comprising change-over switches provided in the pixel to supply the display signal voltage by dividing a time to be used for R, G and B.

21. An image display device including a touch panel input function, comprising:

a display unit constituted by a plurality of pixels; and

a detection circuit that detects a temperature of the pixel,

wherein a presence or absence of a touch panel input is determined in response to a detected result of the detection circuit.

22. The device according to claim 21, wherein the absence of touch panel input is determined if the detected result is smaller than a first threshold value,

the presence of touch panel input is determined if the detected result is larger than the first threshold value or smaller than a second threshold value,

a movement of a place where the touch panel input is applied is determined if the detected result is larger than the second threshold value.

23. An image display device including a touch panel input function, comprising:

a display unit constituted by a plurality of pixels;

a constant current source; and

a detection circuit that detect a voltage of the pixel if the pixel is connected with the constant current source,

wherein a presence or absence of the touch panel input is determined in response to a detected result of the detection circuit.

24. The device according to claim 23, wherein the absence of touch panel input is determined if the detected result is a voltage corresponding to a low temperature, and the presence of touch panel input is determined if the detected result is a voltage corresponding to a high temperature.

25. The device according to claim 24, wherein a movement of a place where the touch panel input is applied is determined if the detected result is a voltage corresponding to a further high temperature.
