Abstract

Systems and methods for error detection shown are described. The method can include receiving, at a computing device of an end-user, a web page including a script embedded by a network appliance, the script having instructions that when executed by the computing device registers for notification of a browser error event, executing the script at the computing device of the end-user, and recording the occurrence of an error during the rendering of the web page, when an error occurs.

Claims

1. A method of determining the presence of errors in a web page, the method comprising:

receiving, at a computing device of an end-user, a web page including a script embedded by a network appliance, the script having instructions that when executed by the computing device registers for notification of a browser error event;

executing the script at the computing device of the end-user; and

recording the occurrence of an error during the rendering of the web page, when an error occurs.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising recording information about an application executing the web page content.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the recording comprises recording the time of the occurrence of the error relative to the web page execution.

4. The method of claim 1 further comprising accelerating, by the network appliance, the receipt of the web page by the computing device of the end-user.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising reporting the recorded error occurrence to another computing device, the another computing device be located on a second domain.

6. The method of claim 5 wherein the reporting comprises communication via an SSL protocol with the another computing device of the second domain.

7. A computer readable medium having instructions thereon that when executed determining the presence of errors in a web page, the computer readable medium comprising:

instructions to receive, at a computing device of an end-user, a web page including a script embedded by a network appliance, the script having instructions that when executed by the computing device registers for notification of a browser error event;

instructions to execute the script at the computing device of the end-user; and

instructions to record the occurrence of an error during the rendering of the web page, when an error occurs.

8. The computer readable medium of claim 7 further comprising instructions to record information about an application executing the web page content.

9. The computer readable medium of claim 7 further comprising instructions to record the occurrence of the error relative to the web page execution.

10. The computer readable medium of claim 7 further comprising instructions to accelerating, by the network appliance, the receipt of the web page by the computing device of the end-user.

11. The computer readable medium of claim 7 further comprising instructions to report the recorded error occurrence to another computing device, the another computing device be located on a second domain.

12. The computer readable medium of claim 11 wherein the instructions to report comprise instructions to communication via an SSL protocol with the another computing device of the second domain.

13. A system for determining the presence of errors in a web page, the system comprising:

means for receiving, at a computing device of an end-user, a web page including a script embedded by a network appliance, the script having instructions that when executed by the computing device registers for notification of a browser error event;

means for executing the script at the computing device of the end-user; and

means for recording the occurrence of an error during the rendering of the web page, when an error occurs.

14. The system of claim 13 further comprising means for recording information about an application executing the web page content.

15. The system of claim 13 wherein the means for recording comprise means for recording the time of the occurrence of the error relative to the web page execution.

16. The system of claim 13 further comprising means for accelerating, by the network appliance, the receipt of the web page by the computing device of the end-user.

17. The system of claim 13 further comprising means for reporting the recorded error occurrence to another computing device, the another computing device be located on a second domain.

18. The system of claim 17 wherein the means for reporting comprise means for communication via an SSL protocol with the another computing device of the second domain.
