1. A subcutaneously implantable medical device (IMD), comprising:

  • a resilient shroud member adapted to cooperatively couple to at least part of the periphery of a subcutaneously IMD; and

    at least a pair of electrodes mechanically coupled to the shroud member and electrically coupled to circuitry within the IMD,wherein a small amount of electrical current is released from the at least a pair of electrodes to notify a patient of one of an operating condition of the IMD and a detected physiological parameter of the patient.
